Hey guys...well the email list is up to 9 people including myself. This is great! Most of this from today (I've added a few from my own contacts).

I'll send out an email late this week or early next and we'll start working out a get together date/time/place.

Feel free to email me suggestions or post them here on this thread. I live less than 5 minutes from downtown so I am flexible and I love to drive :D.

 

I was up in Duluth last weekend. I head up there every couple of weeks. More during cliimbing season.

I'm about 75% sure I'll be in Madison from 4/18 to 4/20.

Jason, thanks for the call. I'm planning to put a ton of miles on my car so I think I'm going to stick to stock wheels because of availability of replacement parts. Put me on the e-mail list as well please.

Hey, I was driving on Pilot **** and 160th today and saw a black RX-8. Anyone here want to claim it? (I was in the Titanium Gray RX-8.) This is my first RX-8 sighting since I got my car (not counting within a mile of the Mazda dealership!

....unfortunatly I was on my way to the mazda dealership cause I got a CEL. "Random Misfire".. a.k.a. you catalytic converter just grenaded and you get to have a new one put in on Monday....

Hey everybody, new to the boards and the 8 family so I thought I'd drop in and say hi. I live in MN around the Maple Grove area so if u see a black 8 in the area thats probably me. Looking forward to going to a meet and greet if we have one. I havent seen a single 8 since i bought the car mid december im hoping its cause they are all stored for the winter.

 

Iceis, I've only seen 3 (including my own) RX-8s since they were released. (at least around here) 1 downtown Minneapolis, mine, and a black on in Apple Valley the other day.

When I travel to California or Florida I see a lot more of them around. (A lot more is about 5-10..)

 

I guess i dont mind that. If the rx8 was more common then it wouldnt be as much fun. I did finally find another though. Apperantly a guy down my block just bought one. (I think seeing mine in the driveway for 3 months made him do it) Im gona see if i can get him on here.

I had all planned to go but this weekend is a major date conflict...I bugged the RR organizers about it

Greetings! I'm another Minnesota RX-8 owner--formerly lived in the Twin Cities, and now located in the heart of "Lake Country" in Alexandria, MN. (that's about two hours north and west of the Twin Cities for those not familiar with the state). I've had my car about four weeks and just recently passed 1000 miles, so I can now enjoy her reving engine. Only taken it up to about 8k a time or two, but it has a sweet sound. Mine is a Velocity Red grand touring with appearance package, spoiler and tinted windows. I believe this is the finest handling car I ever owned--it just seems to do so many things well. I get down to the Cities about once a month and I'll keep looking to see some other 8's, since they're pretty rare out this direction.

After a significant amount of you could not make a May 7th date (I forgot it was Mothers Day weekend, sorry! a new date is set. Sunday May 22nd, at 1:00pm same location, meet at Ridgedale Shopping Center. probably :D...I can say for sure you will be the first Forced Induction RX-8 in Minnesota...for that matter Minnesota, the dakotas, Iowa, Wisconsin, and maybe even Canada too :D!

if you want help getting a good deal on the greddy turbo and other accessories needed (oil catch can, gauges maybe, bov) I can help you...as for installing it...I do know a good shop but I'm not sure if they'll do that kit (some of the guys used to work at Morries Mazda servicing RX-7s for years :D)

As for installing it. I will try to tackle it myself. Once I get the kit. You all are welcome to a and look (maybe help?) as I put it in.

 

Anyone own a yellow rx8. I see it almost everyday park outside near the haap parking lot on 4th street.

 

I think I can get it for you under 3grand and shipped ASAP...shipping would be extra but then again I just had a Hymee Exhaust shipped from California and the box is bigger then some of my co-workers...and shipping was under $50 ground fedex

just tell me soon and I'll get you incontact with the owner...the store is www.mazdaparts.com and the website is being upgraded this week so you'll have a hard time reaching him (they have a few greddys in stock last time I checked on Sat). There may be a special gold price on the item (not sure) as well that you would need a gold account to see...that is where I come in :D.
