Hehe no RR this weekend. I'm in London right now, on to Budapest tommarow.. (long needed vacation.)

I did see an RX-8 while on the bus tour 'round London.. I saw _1_. It looked basically the same as mine.. rear spoiler, titanium, red interior.. to bad we drove by before my camera was ready.

(Too many Miata's.. too few '8's..)

Well I messed with the E-Manage and it is tons better but I still need to do a leak check on my boost. I got the car up to 154 on the way to work this morning on a back road of course and it had more to go but was running out of road!! I think I was at 7500 RPM at that speed. Before it would only go to 140 and start to bog down, so at least I got that all smoothed out. I am going to leak check the boost with an air gauge at 7psi and see what happens tonight?

Nice!!!!!!! How do you leak check the boost with psi? Just pump in 7 psi from an
air compressor and spray the connected area with soapy water?

This shop has a setup for turbos that has a pressure gauge and he caps it off at the throttle body I think. Then he hooks up the air compressor and puts in 7 PSI and wait and see if the pressure drops and he also checks all the fittings for leaks.

hehe Maybe this will give me the boost I need or blow the engine HMMMMMMMMMMM
Well been doing some testing using my Air compressor and it looks good.

I'll apply it to my car soon. HKS have a 1 valve system similiar to this.
http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=857

With the two valve setup I think this should give me a constant boost.

I am going to set the boost at 7 to be safe

Here how it works.

1. the 1st valve(relief valve) will be set to 6 psi.(this will keep the waste gate close).
2. Once boost reach 6 psi . the relief valve will open
3. Boost will be past to the 2nd valve(pressure regulator) and I will set this at 7 psi. This will allow only 7psi down to the waste gate. and maintaining boost at 7 psi.

the 1st valve(relief value) will control how fast boost builds up.
the 2nd valve(pressure regulator valve) will control boost.

below is the Hks pneumatic regulator boost control.

That blue off of 61 and Frost was me.

I'll be going to the North Star event on Sat. I'll be there around 5 or 6 if all goes well. Have to make a club appearance once in a while to prove I still have the 8

I think I've seen the white you've been talking about. I sometimes run into it going into work and its heading east back toward whitebear ave.

Update:

Could not find the off- the self relief valve anywhere in MN ehhehe. Figured I don't really need it. Went for a test drive and what you know it works!!!!!!!!Got 6 psi constantly. I did notice a little boost spike to 8 psi once. Maybe I'll get another regulator and set that to 5 psi. This way it won't let anything over 5 psi go through.

Today I'll try 7 psi and no more <-- fearing anymore then 7 will make the car run lean. Since I can't tune the Air / Fuel maps yet. hmmmm got go buy an air/fuel meter now..

SPEED, are you getting 6 psi in first gear? My car is running richer but it's perfect now! I just need to figure out the boost thang.....I finally got my mechanic to get some free time tonight, so all night we will be tinkering with the car. Checking for leaks and turning up the boost if we don't find any leaks. I'll let you know tomorrow, that boost controller would be handy, thats next on the list!

Joey,
I am looking for a relief valve(which will cause my turbor to spool faster) good or bad it depends on how you drive.
anyways, in theory the wastegate will not open up until the relief valve opens. Which pass pressure to the regulator which we set say 6 psi.

with that said, I believe you can get 6 constantly through out the gears.

No, not me.

No tinted windows, just interior mods at the moment. Was thinking about adding tint, but that can wait.

Hope to see you guys tomorrow at Phalen.

Well yet again I didn't get to mess with my wastegate but I did make it down to the track. I ran a 14.2 in the 1/4 mile at 96 MPH, I lowered my tire pressure to 24 PSI and it eliminated my wheel hop. So I shaved a whole second off my time! I think I could of done better but they shut the trck down 3 times because of people blowing there engines and so on.....I can't wait to get into the 13's!!!

Joey. nice!!!! pretty close to 13. I bet if you adjust your wastegate you'll get 13 easily

To adjust your waste gate do you loosen that jam nut connected to your actuator rod and then take that snap ring off and turn the end of that actuator rod and turn it???

Joey,

1. for easy access you should take out the crosmember
2. Yes losen the Jam nut with a 10mm (I think it was 10) wrench
3. take out the snap ring.
4. the turn the end of the actuator

Each car vary on out many turns.
I turned mine around 1 and 1/2 but I might get do a full 2 turn.
