I've been on forum almost everyday, but have been busy on some other things at home last week or so...
By the way, the road rally I talked about a whle back is coming soon!
They will have the rally on Saturday, and autocross on Sunday.
I will be riding with my friend on his 350Z on Saturday, but planning on taking my 8 on Sunday.
Any one may be intereted?

I've been on the forum everyday, just haven't been posting in our section. Most of my weekends have been spent under the hood of my buddy's mgb that's almost finished or another's e36 M3. We'll have to do another meet again soon. The ohio rotary folks want to get together and head to the street life tour as a group. I'm not big on drifting or drag racing, but it should still be a good time. it's not till mid september, so there's still plenty of time.
Tacti,
My friend and I decided not to do the Jawbreaker. $300 is pretty steep for what it is.

Yep, It started off as what should have been a parts car basically. He has a ton of work and a ton of money in it. But it's shaped up to a nice car. The last couple of weekends, we've been working all the bugs out. It was running a little lean and overheating, but i think he got that worked out this weekend. The only thing electronic left is the radio, which won't be too bad.
Pictures Here
The Street Life Tour is up at Kil-Kare on Sept. 18th. From 1 to 9.

That MGB is pretty. You are right, that was a lot of work. My youngest brother spent years restoring a Triumph Sptifire that he sold last year, mainly so he could get an Elise.
The SLT isn't too far away, but not sure I would like that sort of activity. The drifting would be nice to see, but listening to ricers would probably kill me (and you know they will be there).

Oh yeah, they'll be out in droves for sure. I plan on keeping a tally of the 17 second civics, neons, cadavaliers etc. It's not really my scene either, but bing up there with a bunch of other rotary folks should be cool. The group going up is a good group and they know their ****. I've always had a good time hanging out with them. The people watching should be pretty entertaining as will the photo ops for the "What not to do to your car" thread.

i wouldn't blame you.
I'm splitting the entry fee, but 150 is steep...
wish if they have pricing for locals who doesn't need hotels....
SLT sounds good to me as well.
as of right now, i don't have anything planned for september.
gathering up with other rotaries would be fun.

sad day for rx8s today. i live in clifton. on the way from 71 to my apartment on taft i unfortunately saw an rx8 that was totaled. i guess from the skid marks he lost control and went into the wall. and i mean this thing was destroyed. curious if that was anyone on here? it was the charcoal Grey color. as i drove by i was in awe and said wtf so loud that all the cops on the scene turned and glared at me haha. tried to get a pic but couldn't. but yeah just wanted to see if it was any of you. if so hope your alright.

That sucks about the wrecked 8.
So, I'm home!!!!! Already installed the wife's new driver's side sunvisor. Looked through my pile 'o parts. Probably going to install the Konis on my Speed6 first, then work on hers. Just ordered some Mazdaspeed sideskirts and the exhaust cutouts. Going to get a grounding kit as well. And that should pretty much take care of everything for her.
I'm going to try to make Fuel this Saturday.

Awesome!
Welcome Home Chief!!!
Not sure if I'll be at fuel or not. If we have time before the Jawbreaker rally, we may stop in. I won't have my car though. Don't let stop you though. It will be good to be around cars after months on a ship.

Xander. Info is here. http://www.jawbreakerroadrally.com/j...EO_INTRO_.html
Road Rally this Saturday. The SCCA cancelled on them for the AutoX, so they've decided to run it for free this year. If you want to do it, you'll need a co-driver and just fill out the registration form and email it in.
I have a friend who ran it last year, and it's pretty intense. Nothing an 8 can't handle though.

I went Jaw Breaker last year.
it's a road rally, where you'll receive a written directions (not a map) leading you from the starting point to checkpoints, and to the goal.
you are not going for the fastest, but to the unknown set time that organizers came up with.
it's like a average time of several runs that organizer did before the rally or something...
you won't know where you are going until right before you start (that's why you need navigator).
it is very intense, and fun.
well worth wasting your weekend, and a lot of oil and gas!!
