BAD NEWS GUYS! I am a new member of the new engine club, my engine is done and I am getting a new one put in. I may not have my car back by Feb 1st. I will keep ya posted but as of right now I will be unable to make it.....

anyhow, hope you get your car back on time!

 

It wasn't anything I did, I was just driving on the highway at about 75 to 80 mph a cruise. I was getting off my exit and I went to do my casual downshift and got a deeeep *** sputtering sound, then she stalled. I am running a compression test and a trick olddragger taugh me on here to confirm if the seals are blown. I threw 4 codes.

1st- catalyst defincency
2nd-running too lean
3rd-another running too lean
4th-misfire on cylinder 2

I am going to replace the spark plugs, pull the room fuse, and reset the ecu and see if that fixes it. If not then it is for sure a blown apex seal. In that case I am getting a remaned rene from mazmart if I can't get one from the dealer. I am going to have them put on a pettit stage II supercharger with the works....so thats where I stand as of right now.

 

I found out why I threw the two lean codes, it was because my vaccum nipple broke off in the cold weather and caused the leak and I just ignore the cat code because I dont have a cat. So its really the misfire I am working on, and who knows it could be something fairly simple that is messing with my car, lets jus hope it is.

Who is working in your car? I mean did you take it to the dealership for a diagnosis yet?
This is one of my biggest fears too running with the turbo.... so far its been good!
I really hope it`s an easy fix!!

I am trying to save a trip to the dealer because of all my parts on there. I dont want to put all the stock parts on and find out it was just a damn spark plug. Plus I have narrowed it down to one of two things, it is either the spark plugs or a blown seal. I have done A LOT of homework on this one so I am ready to tackle the job tom morning.....wish me luck ladies and gents.

And who wants some more bad news??

Bad news # 1: It’s supposed to snow! (check weather.com 10 day) small amounts but I hope its not bad.

Bad news # 2: My car has been at the RX7 store this week getting the INT-X installed and dyno tuned @ 10 psi -> guess what happened? -> My turbo is toast!! so I need to get it rebuild which will take a few weeks!

I will still be there drinking coffee @ the meet but unfortunately my car won’t!


Ps: and this week I have been looking at the problems SRrx-8JC is going thru and something in my mind was like tipping me off to something, like 6th sense or something, and then I got the phone-call!!

Damn ……

 

I feel your pain man, I had that weird feeling with mine before this problem happen to mine also. I am determined to get the problem fixed and if I have to I will stay up all night trying to get my baby fixed. I promise it will be running within a week .....HAVE FAITH....hahaha
