Way to go James! Nice to see someone's ride featured with their permission.

In other news, I was assembling the Miata today. Had gotten the radiator in and put the thermostat in, when I was tightening the cover I heard/felt a snap but the stud I was working on was fine. Wasn't until I was filling the coolant that I found out the cover itself had broken. Based on what I found the thermostat shifted when I put the cover on and provided a lever which kept the cover from seating properly leading to it breaking. Now I have to wait until Monday (if I'm lucky) for the new one to show at the dealer. I can't remember ever having this much trouble with any modification to a car.

Way to go, James. Even an 8-hater came over to the dark side.

Chief, I'd buy a SmartCar if I were you.

Thanks guys, I really didn't think he was going to post them when I sent, as some of the cars on the site have wheels that cost more than my car. Was pretty surprised when he emailed me back and asked if he could post them after sending.

I'd need a SmartAssCar, and as far as I know they don't make those. Besides, if I had one of those tall, narrow, shrimpy cars I'd end up rolling it within the first 50 miles.

A guy I work with who lives in Burlington has one (Smartcar). He's about 6'2" 300#'s so it's funny as hell. Actually, ran into him the other day when shopping for a house in his neighborhood by accident... still makes me laugh so hard when I see it.

Househunting = no more mods. I see a minivan in your future.

If he's looking close to me, he can always sneak over to my place and get a fix. I'm always working on something. I can always use a tool fetching bitch.

James gets hurt too easy. You don't want him dropping tools on his foot.

Out in the Miata yesterday in Montgomery by Bethesda North. Some lady (using the term lightly) is passing me on the right in her Ford Escape and even though the lane ends 1/2 mile up the road, she decides that she wants in my lane RIGHT NOW! Lucky I was able to dodge her by going into the opposite lanes left turn lane and miss the center divide, but it was a bit close. How does one know you're passing me and not know you're going to take me out? I think it scared the crap out of her that she almost ran over me.

The Miata is a target I tell you.

We still have kids in the house, so plenty of first aid stuff. Although that bandages keep disappearing.

I drive too aggressively in the Miata to be a target, but I do have redneck idiots in jacked-up 4X4s come right up on my *** at stoplights. It does help having the extra horsepower to get away from people. Well, it does when it's running!

I like Independence, I like the roads back there as well a lot of nice houses back there. Steve don't worry, I only get hurt working on your car, so as long as I stay away from it, I'm good. As far as the 8 is concerned, I only had one house that I couldn't make it up a curb, and it was in Florence As far as being a tool bitch, everybody's gotta be something

I thing I'm going to get a CB radio in the Miata. That way I can get one of those 6' whip antennas and put a red flag at the top. If a truck tries to cut me off, I can just blast away on them over the radio.

For you younger folks, CB radio stands for Citizen's Band. Everyone had one back in the day. Big 10-4 good buddy.

Why not just get the antenna? BTW, the last I heard only a certain style of person, shall we say, used the phrase good buddy.

Miata is alive! Picked up the thermo cover on my way home from lunch, only took about 20 minutes to get it all buttoned up since I did most of it the other day. Out for a run and all looked/sounded well.

I was waiting for you to comment.

Glad to hear your Miata is back together and running again. You didn't even need your tool bitch.

^ Very funny Steve, got blasted with black soot yesterday on the way to work on 75 just minding my own. Yeah, had to get around him, but he just kept on trying to accelerate to catch up. What's with these guys? Serious case of the little man/big truck complex, I think.

Damn! I was out running errands (wanted to get a SD card for my new phone) and was headed for the grocery store when I saw the north sky was getting dark and they said there were thunderstorm warnings with hail possible on the radio. Got home about 10 minutes ago and it's started here. Coming down pretty hard. Groceries can wait!

Can't complain about that price. Actually considering this. Does anyone know of any decent (read: not ghetto-rigged) hangers to fit this on an S2?

At least you're home. I'm stuck in Newark NJ. Flights cancelled tonight so I have to fly in to CVG in the AM. At least my beers were paid for by the company tonight.

James, I saw that thread on the RR dual. Price is right, but it may not be in the cards to buy one right now. Maybe later this year.

If you read through the thread, there is a guy with an S2 that bought this. I would try PM' him and see what he did.

I read through and only saw one guy (Everest^) who confirmed receiving it (and he got his two days ago), and he's an S1. I know benben said he ordered, but no update from him. So far no one's confirmed install, or posted a vid of the sound, I think.
