Robyn got us a room for two nights, so we're headed up Friday evening. Nothing like a little break from the kids/dogs. See you Saturday morning.

Did a day trip back to IL to visit some relatives I haven't seen in years. Took the 8, got 22.8 mpg on the way out doing 75 with no A/C on. The return trip seems like it should be about the same, maybe a little better as I didn't have to get out of the cruise as much. I'll find out once I fill her back up.

Busy day today. I thought I heard a rattle from the back end of the 8 and found that the right shock mount was loose. So I loosened it up on both sides and did a preload. Seemed to settle the rear down a little more. POS Harbor Freight jack died on me and I couldn't get the 8 off the jack stand. So up to Sears Hardware to pick up a new jack and some new wrenches. Nice ratchet type.

Changed the plugs on the Miata. That cured the 3500RPM roughness. Old plugs looked fairly good, but were a bit carbonized. Washed it and detailed the interior and I'll do the exterior on Sunday.

Pretty quiet here. Everyone leave town?

Anyone know what the schedule is for the corral at M-O? I want to get there early enough to cop some swag.

Marlin has always had enough for everybody. He hasn't published anything for the event. I guess we'll have to see what's up when we get there.

I've been busy working on my heard of vehicles. lol.

Fixing a few small things on the BMW, getting the Escort ready to sell, and getting everything ready on the 8 for my DE this weekend.

Stock replacement cat. I heard the aftermarket cats don't last long.

Also looking for the best Mazda service department in the area, or a private garage that does the work. I've heard mixed reviews on the local Mazda dealers, and don't know who to believe and where to take it.

Thanks.

Everyone says Kings Mazda on here. I go to Kerry. Most people don't like Jake's Weeny. Don't know where you can find a stock replacement cat, at least cheap.

I have no dealer preference, since i've done all of my own work and am out of warranty anyway. You're only going to get a stock replacement cat from a dealership. The cheapest "might actually last more than 3 years" option is to have a DaveSport cat welded in, or to get the BHR midpipe with one in it. Pretty much every other aftermarket cat out there has been proven to fail after a couple years or less.

I might go up too, probably won't decide until the last minute though. My summer has been too hectic already, I might need a weekend off.

That's all I've seen. I just have to try and get the wife out of bed early enough on Saturday, luckily we'll just be about 30 minutes from the track.

Schedule is here: http://www.midohio.com/Schedule

As far as I know, the 8s will be running at 1630 Saturday. I just hope I can get the new supercharger installed in time to drive the Miata, otherwise we'll be in the 8.

I didn't see where Subies were welcomed.

The wife will be gone that weekend so I'm dog sitting.

Mike, thanks for the schedule on M-O.

The in-laws are coming to stay with us for the weekend, so I will not make the race this weekend. May take the 8 to fuel saturday to get away for a couple of hours.

Need work to slow down a bit so I can spend some time on the car. Still needs a good wax, just trying to decide if I want to get the small dents and scratches taken care of first.

Need to get my wife's car paid off so I can start working on the 8.

Thinking about this exhaust:

Edit:
just saw BB's post of this exhaust as well : https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=232653

Might be a bit too pricey for my liking

Tell the In-Laws you're going out to buy them some fresh produce and you have to go to Findlay Market to get it.

Borla is pricey but sounds pretty good. I think I might go with the Racing Beat for the S2. Not really loud but still better than stock. It's similar to the Mazdaspeed version that used to be available.

Right now I'm debating working on the suspension vs. exhaust. Koni Yellows sound pretty good and might be cheaper than the exhaust. I can't do both this year and the internal debate over handling vs. noise.

Sweet James! Looks great.

Steve, also consider the Magnaflow. That's what I have on the wife's car, it sounds nice (ask Kevin, he has heard it pre-Miata when I would drive it to Fuel on occasion). I actually also have one of theirs on the Speed, for the price you can't beat it.

It's looking like I might be in the 8 at M-O unless things come together quickly in the next few days. I have gotten a lot done on the Miata but haven't fitted the bigger 'charger up yet. Maybe tomorrow, but I still have to fire it up and make sure the base tune I have on the MegaSquirt runs ok. Wife went into the garage today and freaked (I had the dash and most of the interior out, needed to replace the hacked up wiring harness and carpet). She said, so you aren't "just" replacing the supercharger? Can't put anything by her!!

James that looks awesome! I feel like I'm looking at boobie pictures.

Chief's magnaflow does sound pretty good on the 8. Definitely worth a look Steve.

Anyone heading to fuel tomorrow? The crowd has been getting a little bigger each week.

Magnaflow is about $1K. Racing Beat is about $680 from Mike's favorite dealer. I'd get it direct from RB if I order one since I back Mike on boycotting Good-Win.

No Fuel for me. My niece is in town so I have to man the grill tonight.

I am going to put my rear spoiler on tonight, so no Fuel for me.

Milltek is another option, but I bet it's going to be very expensive. All the other JDM stuff will be more than it's worth or you can modify an S1. I think Exoticspeed has stuff for S2's as well.
