We went to look at a Tribute. For me it would be perfect, but she looks at cars as fashion accessories. This has not fared well for her (witness the Cabrio debacle) but she won't listen to me. Speaking of, the Cabrio is finally out of our lives. Hooray!

Thanks Steve. It was great seeing and catching up with you too.
Got good news yesterday, my extra training after the conference has been condensed into one day. I get to fly home Saturday. Hoping the weather next week will be conducive to working on the Miata. I need some warm weather to take care of the rust emerging on the third brake light on the 8 as well.

Just got home a little earlier, after one hell of a trip home. First time I've been on a flight that turned back partway into the flight. Don't know if I'll be at Fuel next week or not, waiting on the boss to tell me if we're doing a road trip.

In 36 years and a few million miles of flying, that only happened to me once when we lost compression. I know how those yellow pig snouts work.
I'll probably be there with the 8. I had a couple people look at it. Nothing serious.

No, they just looked at it. Never found out the actual problem (pilot said fuel pump/valve/gauge at various times). They just topped up the fuel and sent us on our way. Lost four hours so missed my original flight. I will say this for American, they had already made new flights for those of us who were moving on (although they didn't do a good job of telling us the new tickets would be taped to the wall as we left the place, had to see that for myself), and they used orange ticket jackets so we got head of the line privileges. Of course they offset that by having the gate changed from what it said on my ticket, but that's par for them.

Pricing out the performance exhaust. May be next purchase. I plan at being at Fuel on Saturday if the rain passes.

Ordered the BMW performance exhaust today off eBay. Found out it's interesting how much markup the stealerships have on parts. It lists at $1447.15 (from the BMW Store). They have their own on-line store called TheBMWPartstore.com. There they sell it for $1059. I go onto eBay and a BMW dealer in NJ will sell it for $859, free shipping and no sales tax. Guess what I did.
Should arrive by April 1.

No Fuel for me today, don't feel like messing with driving in this weather. Instead, I'll go get contorted in the back of the Miata and finish my top install. Much easier than the Cabrio, except for the trim pieces that attach the rear of the top to the body.

Anyone going to fuel this Saturday? Hopefully the weather holds out... planning on going since I haven't been in a while.
BTW - if anyone is looking for a good daily I'm trying to sell my CX-7 so I can buy something easier on gas. If interested... 2007 Mazda CX-7 Sport - 2.3 Turbo

New exhaust is on. Sounds really good. Might show it off at Fuel Saturday.
Where has James been? Hanging out with the Porsche latte crowd?

Sorry I didn't make Fuel last weekend, was trying to get the Miata clutch job finished up. Had to deflood the 8 today, this time was my fault (and it will be the last time I do that). Headed for Singapore for a couple of weeks so I won't be able to be at Fuel until the end of April.

See ya in a couple weeks. I'm headed to Europe the last week of April.
