Steve, it took them quite a while to get us out on the track, think it wasn't until around 2030 so you would have been that much later getting underway. Hope Ned made it home in time!

We went back this morning for a little while, watched the MX-5 Cup race which was great. Nothing like a spec series for tight racing.
Mike, Ned just made it home to officially get home in time for his anniversary. It was probably 11:59:59. Bob had to drop Ned off at his home in Batavia and then head back to Independence. I think he got home around 1:30 since there was an accident on 275 and it was shut down for awhile.

All those GM POS were ahead of you. When we went over the infield bridge, we could see them lined up through turn 1 headed up to Keyhole.

It was a great day there. Of course, the Mazda corral was the biggest. One or two from the race yesterday.

James, where/when were you at the track? Neither Steve nor I saw you (or did you want it that way?),

The company I work for's office is in Polaris, so let me know if you ever want to meet-up around there, it'd be pretty convenient .

I was there with pops, we didn't get there until about 2pm. I didn't see anyone either. I did see a guy wearing a shirt that said RX8 on it, but that was about it. I think you guys all were hiding from me. Walked right passed McDreamy as he was walking out to the pre-race though, so I guess I can find big stars, but somehow elude you guys.

Used to live in Blendon Woods Luxury Apartments on 161 near Near New Albany where Urban Active is now. Back in '06 there was a lot of construction on 161, hopefully they got that all done.

There was only about 8,000 there I would imagine. Not a big crowd, but nice to get around and the after-race traffic wasn't bad at all.

James, did you come by the Mazda tent at all? If you showed them a pic of BBRX8 you could have gotten a goodie bag.

The Continental race was half-yellow. When they were racing, it was tight, but lots of Acura pace car, and that's just not right to look at.

I thought it was funny how between races when they were showing us what the driving school cars could do, one of the Acuras drove off the back straight into the tire wall.

Pics from the weekend. You'll probably recognize Jason's car. All pics are thanks to my buddy Craig who picked up my camera and got some good shots for me.

i'm already scheming on how to get back out this fall.

It's an unbelievable experience. I took to it naturally and became "fast" for my group. I'm not fast yet, but I'll get there. It came to me very naturally and i never felt mind fucked or really overloaded, so i'm lucky. It's a lot to take in.

Mike, you need to do it. I will say that i'll probably never step foot on an autox course again unless it's a small one. For me it doesn't compare and the seat time difference is huge. I had 175 minutes of in seat track time over the 2 days. I would have had 25 more if i could have stayed for the last session. Even at $350 (price went up 20% at putnam this year) for the weekend it's a great value. I'm already jones'ing to go back. I think i know some places where i could have been a lot faster now that it's all soaked in and i have some experience.

I loved racing motorcycles and I'd really like to get back into that. If I take a car I'd want to drive the Miata, and with my height that won't happen. Even if I change the roll bar out I still wouldn't pass the broomstick test. Maybe once I get the 7 redone I'll do it. I will say that having the 8 on the track at M-O felt natural, I wanted to push it more but given my passenger I figured it was best to maintain marital bliss.

Look into the rules, but you might be fine with your hardtop on. You have to run with the top up regardless anyway. Boxters run with the PCA's all the time, and for most of them the built in roll bar barely passes the broomstick test.

Dan: i'll most likely be at fuel after work wednesday.

Congrats on the track run. I'll have to make it out sometime in the Sti. I'll see you at Fuel on Wednesday. Hopefully Mac is there, I want to talk to him about getting my Sti a clearbra.

All the cool people were at Mid-Ohio.

Mike, how fast did they allow you to go on the parade lap? You top 60 down the back straight out of Keyhole? Two years ago I got the Miata almost to 50 but they backed it off heading into China Beach.

They had people just past start/finish so everyone slowed there, and another single guy around the dogleg on the back straight. Second lap when we had all spaced out a bit I saw 65 on the back straight before slowing at the dogleg (probably hit a little higher than that). I was mainly concerned by the guy in the red second gen 7 behind me, he looked a little squirrelly in some of the corners and he came charging up my *** a couple of times when the 8s in front of me slowed and I had nowhere to go.

Will do, sir. I'd like to see the new ride at some point.

I looked at a couple places over near New Albany. 161 looks fine now, no construction anymore, but 71/670 is a huge mess right now. That's the only big construction spot I've run into up here.

No mods other than i think 5% tint in the rears (it's really dark) and maybe 35% up front, alpine single din deck w/ rockford fosgate amp and subs. Everything else on the car is stock as far as I know. And mudflaps lol.

Just for that comment I'm sticking my Sti right in the middle of all the 8s

I will be back in Cincy sometime this week so I may check out Wednesday night Fuel. Anyone plan on going?
The new car looks great! I just got my wife a Subi. It's just a legacy, but...whatever. I'm loving the exhaust! It took a while to get used to the noise, and I almost got a ticket on my way home that night. lmao.

I finally got my wheels on and have eliminated almost all rubbing. Big thanks to Brilliantblack and everyone else who helped with fitment advice. I ended up going with s techs, -1.5 degrees camber and a slight fender pull and roll. Here's the results...

^ That's a mean fitment. Looks good and glad you like the exhaust. I'm dying for more noise. Thank god this Sti has subs to distract me from the lack of exhaust noise.
