Gym? It's called yard work. Time to cut the grass again.

Memorial Day: Ate too much. Didn't drink enough, but had the Stars and Bars flying. I was the only one in my neighborhood who had a flag. Even the vet with the flag pole didn't have his flag flying.

There's going to be another R3 joining our merry group. Bob, my friend with the silver FD, is on his way back from South Dakota with a 2010 ABM R3 on his trailer. The R3 has something like 3300 miles on it. We need more S2s.

I hate to admit that I'm not sad to see you go. Just means I can paint my calipers red whenever I get around to it.

Let me know when you paint them. I have expertise doing it. Of course, I may paint your rotors while I'm at it.

Red is so Porsche.

Hey all,

I just moved here from Seattle (I live in Franklin, now) so I figured I would subscribe here. That's about it.

Just checked out your pics, your 8 is clean, but that 10th Anniversary Turbo FC needs to be in my garage! You have one of the few that were made if it's the real deal.

Might have my car back Saturday, car was actually done, but when they went to install the clear bra, they noticed a couple of cracks in the bumper on the edges, so off came the bumper, and now it has been filled and getting repainted... I guess I might have to wait a little longer Saturday is now a 50/50 shot, better to have it done right.

So you're putting S1 wheels on the Speed6? Curious how that's going to look.
Here you go Steve. I will finally get to experience the Yokohamas in 225-45 that I bought a year or so ago. The wheels I had them on rubbed in the back so they went on the 8.

Got the new tires on the 8, I asked them to move the TPMS over from the stock wheels if possible. They did it but it appears three of them are leaking. Going to take them back tomorrow when I get the Speed aligned and have them put in normal valve stems. I kind of wanted to go with S-Drives, but they were $120 more than what I was able to get some Eagle GTs for. We had those on the Speed for several years and they did very well for such a heavy car.

There have been quite a few people who put 8 wheels on a Speed, it looks pretty good but I really want some five double spoke wheels for it. My search continues.
These would do, hell these would do on the 8 as well.

Looks great Mike. Eagles are pretty good when they have more than 1/2 tread. Once they get below that, road noise will drive you crazy. I had them on my Speed (Eagle F1 A/S) and great tires in the wet and snow. Dry was pretty good too. When the wife and I drove to FL to see Sebring, coming back I had a headache since the road noise was driving me up a wall. I had them a few thousand more before getting Michelins. Those just didn't wear at all.

Those are pretty close to the Exel Ennios that are on the 8. However...aesthetically I like wheels that have the distance between the double spokes get closer towards the rim. Like the Ennios. There is a Mazdaspeed version that fits the bill, but we are talking $2500 shipped from Japan.

Thanks for the invite, but during the training phase of my new job I'm working 6 on and 2 off... in a few weeks my schedule will open up and I'll have the time to make it to more events.

Work, mostly. I'm originally from Ohio - but the other side - closer to Wheeling. So, when I got out of the Navy, I found a good job in Middletown.

Thanks! It is the real deal... It was my second rotary car. I bought it when I was in High School and I still have it. It didn't always look so pretty! It still needs a few things, but it's getting there. You can expect to see it at cruises. I love my 8, but everyone else loves the 7

Thanks to everyone for making a newb feel welcome!

Should have it back Monday, they need to put the clear bra on it. The shop that is doing it has to custom make the bra since it's not a very popular bumper. How is yours working out for you? Is it keeping the chips down?

I will have to install the rear spoiler, Lebren brake light/rear accent, and rear aero flares, as well as the shocks before it's all done, although next weekend is Mid-Ohio. I am pretty excited to get the car back, I really miss driving it. I can't believe after 5 years I'm not sick of driving it, in the past, I get tired of a car after about a year

Dings in the bra but not in the paint. Bug splats come off pretty easy too. I have the 3M kit. There's a couple brands out there and one brand tends to yellow with age. Mine has some 10 year warranty or something like that if it does.

Yeah, I tried not to laugh.

My friend Bob got his ABM R3 back in one piece from South Dakota. He's getting the clear bra installed next week. We're heading up to M-O early Saturday AM in my car. So Mike, we'll probably see you in the corral. Wish I had my cat back on. Still debating which and when to order. I have some travel coming up to Mexico and Texas so putting it on will have to work around that schedule.
