Anyone have a compression checker? I have a potential buyer that wants it done and would like to get this taken care of asap.

You can get an LS6 with a T56 ~$6000 with pretty low miles. About 400hp and 400ft/lb tq

20b with no tranny (only came in auto tranny cars) with lowish miles is ~$3000 and would need a rebuild to do it right @~$4000 or dollars or more. You'd only have ~280hp and 290ft/lb of torque stock. You'd need a single turbo conversion, and a tranny to get to the ls6 stock numbers. Weight is almost the same for a dressed engine. engine + rebuild + mods + tranny = about ~$10k

I'd go lsx any day even if it doesn't sound as wicked. It's has more power potential, more stock power, more reliability and better drivability.

Just my thoughts and possibly the direction my 8 will go in as some point in the future.
Buy a Veloster Turbo instead.

See if a Mazda dealer will do it for $$ and get a report. I bet Kings would do it and you have a paper trail too. Might be worth a few bucks to have it done.

I called them and they charge 200 to get it done. I dont want to pay out of pocket for it because I feel the buyer should pay for it.

Moete: $200 is high. It shouldn't be much more than an hour's worth of labor. Might want to check other dealerships.

They'll see *****, assume you don't know what an engine is, and charge you $400 for checking the inline specs on the rotary girder.

Make sure they are the right part numbers so it will fit correctly.

-First day back at work all week, went to doc yesterday, have Sinusitis and Bronchitis. Sucks, I am sick of being sick, but I am medded up

I am looking for sides now, may have some soon

^ Mine was equipped with Xenons to begin with, I just swapped it out with 6k HID bulbs.
On a side note, my front bumper and fender is on and she looks pretty good now.
Minus the not so good paint job, but I can live with it till I can pay for a decent paint job and/or locate a tigray ms bumper.

Yes! Looks much better than the RE-A one.
They make great stuff but some of their stuff is too show oriented.
I like the one you ordered

Now that rear end for the rest of the kit of the ones you ordered... that... idk lol

Here's my thinking on rear bumpers. If you have an aggressive front and sides that blend and concave rims, you don't need a rear bumper. With my lip spoiler, it actually brings more attention to it then having an aftermarket rear bumper.

Here is a simple example of what I am talking about, notice the stretched tires on concavity, it all adds to the flow. This is one of the best looking RX8's I have ever seen IMO.

I don't see a reason to get an after market rear bumper really lol
Only one I've liked so far is the MS one that's only just a add on.

cool thanks for the info moete. some people told me swaping lights burns up the wiring harnesses? ive been reading into v-leds somewhere on the forum. anyone bought anything from them? im thinking about swapping most lights to leds, red turns on the back, maybe a brighter/bluer headlight. i'd rather buy most of it at one store instead of using multiple companies. if you guys got any info on lighting or experience with v-leds, that would be cool.

I'm not a fan of the Buddy Club rear bumper/front bumper at all, but yeah you wouldn't have any burning issues at all. LOL

Hey Guys/Girls, I just recently acquired my 8. Good to see a decent amount of others in the Cincy area. I'm just east of cincy myself.

I picked up a 40th Anniversary. I'm currently reading through posts and searches for where to start mod wise. I've also been looking to see if there are any lapping days/time attack or solo II events in our area here. The only thing I see is the Cincy Sports Car club.
