I've had to do it since I installed my turbo, unless to gather data. No boost for me
I had to get my turbo rebuilt/upgraded anyways.

Its off the base.
Disregard it since you are tuned already.
If you have adjustments you want done, send me logs using the dyno-tuned calibration (and send the calibration along with it).

Stupid domain registrar had the wrong credit card expiration date.
So, instead of saying "Hey! We are having problems with your card!", they just turned the domain off.
I got it fixed.

Start right where you left off.
How did you fry your PCM?

it was my omage to the great SNL skit "national change bank"

I'm hoping this is just growing pains from cobb. coming out with the racetune for rx8, coming out with the easier updater.. .doesn't take much to fubar a line of code to cause headaches. I have to say I'm impressed with how they're handling everyone's returns.. so that keeps me happy.

MM i have no clue. I was driving casually (for once) and then all of my CELs came on. I lost all features, DSC, ABS, TSC, Power steering. I made a thread about it.

I had the 4_0_1 maps on there at the time. I didn't get a chance to put the 4_0_2 maps you had just sent me no more then 2 days prior.

I was thinking as a precaution...should I start from scratch with the new firmware and all?

Well, since you are in the US, you don't need the newest BETA firmware.
Just update to the most recent "regular" firmware and flash right up to the v4.0.2 calibration.

Jeff, I purchased an AP from you last year early summer and picked it up at the chicago dyno tune meet. You custom tuned my car. I haven't done any updates to the firmware on the AP because I never needed adjustments.

My question is this, will the custom map you created work perfectly fine with the latest regular firmware? I would like to update the firmware on the AP before I get the car out of storage but wanted to make sure it wouldn't cause any problems.

Also, I saw this was asked before but never got a clear answer, a CAT delete pipe shouldn't require any adjustments, correct?

There have been some compatibility issues with old calibrations and the newest firmware.
What I'd suggest is that you send me your current calibration (using the format in the first post of this thread) and let me update it with the newest software before you update your firmware.

The CAT may or may not make a difference, depending on the relative health of your CAT at the time it was tuned.

My car had less than 2500 miles on it when you tuned it. So I don't have to pay for the redo on the calibration?

Its based on time. You have 6 months from the date of purchase to participate in the calibration service.
However, if you just want your existing calibration updated, don't worry about the timeframe.
Just send it over and I'll flip it back to you.
Make sure you answer the 11 questions and attach the actual calibration to the e-mail.

With 300 cals to go through and people constantly asking him for updates is probably making this take longer.

I was pretty shocked to see the MM base map gave me 22.6MPG (average) on the highway.
I figured it would be worse than that, so I'm quite happy so far.

I got my "received" message on Feb 14th and I'm still waiting, so let the man get off the forum and get back to work

Ok guess MM is a little back loged, got my "received" 19th. I was only wondering due to "48 hr turn around". Thanks now I know MM is real busy right now and give him some more time.

Yeah Al I hear you.....the winter makes me get at least 3 or so MPG less. The fuel blend is different (more ethanol) and when I take short trips, it takes a long time to warm up fully, so I presume the car is running rich for most of that time.....

bah.

Yeah, my MPG has plummetted for the winter. I let it sit idling until it warms up fully though which probably makes it even worse. Oh well, the car drives amazingly, even if its sucking down gasoline faster than my old '73 Stingray.
