When you go into install and it detects an unsupported ECU, press OK, then go to the User Tools menu and there is an option to download a dump of the ECU. DO that, then via the AccessPort Manager select Advanced and there is an option to download the dump to your PC. Take that and email it to MM or whomever you purchased it off.

All off the top of my head so may not be 100% accurate.

Cheers

New ROMs are added to the database on regular basis, so check in for updates regularly.

Remember to have the "beta" option checked in the updater software so that you get the absolute newest firmware.

Okay, I just purchased an AP after reading this entire thread. Can't wait to get started. Okay, so here is my question - while I'm waiting on adjusted calibrations and maps, or in between, or whatever is there any harm or affect on tuning if I just uninstall the AP and run on the factory ecu instead of daily driving on the base calibrations or whatever that are on the fat side - particularly for autocross events.

There's no harm in running the base calibration that comes with the accessport. The base calibration uses the stock mapping but makes various tweaks such as raising your OMP output, kills various CELS, changes fan speeds etc.

If anything, running the base calibration will benefit your RX8 better than going back to the stock mapping. You have the option of uninstalling the AP but I'd suggest just sticking with the base calibration until your custom one arrives.

Hi Andrew. Already done that and sent it to Jeff. Now the Cobb people need to include support for it a firmware update. I hope it happens soon, it's very frustrating that it's sitting here and I can't do anything with it.

Add to that that I have an intermittent CEL and it would be really useful to be able to read that when it appears.

What is the Calibration ID, Caitlin? I can get you the exact map and metadata file quicker than it takes the hardware to arrive by post...

Cheers,
Hymee.

Hymee, I'm not sure where I find the calibration id. Is it something like that: N3ZG_enc? I can also send you the actual file if that helps.

Thanks,
catalin

That isn't going to do anything for his AccessPORT, though.

The remainder of the Australian ROMs should be supported very soon, if they aren't already.

Australia is somewhat unique in that, not only are there the "standard" two calibrations, but there are both "legitimate" and "gray-market" JDM ROMs running around out there.
There are also quite a few people with Euro and North American ROMs.

Strange place.

Anyone know why the AP logs a maximum throttle duty cycle of 67%, when it is programmed for 84% at WOT??

So, I'm confused (because I don't know who anyone is here, for the most part).
You have a shipping confirmation from back in September.
I don't think the above response was meant for you specifically. Just a general answer for people in Europe.
Your AP is listed as USDM spec (which is what you ordered). Are you expecting me to send you a second unit?

Uh, no.
I don't keep "extra" AccessPORTs around.
When you order one, it goes immediately to my next shipment from Cobb and then right out to the USPS (for international orders) within 11 days of the order.

I'll check the shipping info as soon as I can.

I mean if he says there was a shipping confirmation, it means he sent it out. Sounds like an issue to raise with shipping carrier. Maybe someone snatched it off a doorstep. In anycase, waiting several months before bringing it to the attention of the appropriate parties might very well have left you with no options. Shippinh carrier might be uncooperative at this point.

I've heard recently Cobb has released speed density tuning on their subaru units, I was wondering if this is the same thing as MAP tuning? Also anything like this in the future for the 8, or is it unlikely cause the majority of 8's and not going to see positive manifold pressure, which to my understanding is how MAP works, by measuring the amount of pressure inside the intake manifold? Any info would be appreciated.

Were working on using the factory BARO sensor as a MAP sensor.
Its good to 2 BAR.
This would be used in conjunction with the MAF, just like the Subies.
