We have been looking into property already and ALL of Austin housing prices are good compared to the northeast (outside of philly) where we are now. The only beat thing is that the forecast is rainy for this weekend.

Yeah. You won't be able to go see the lake either. It's closed (most of the boat ramps are underwater plus the rain has brought in and up alot of debris and bacteria. I'm having a house built up in Leander so I'll be just down 1431 from you in Round Rock.

Whoops ... See ... https://www.rx8club.com/gulf-rx-8-forum-32/texasrxs-austin-events-june-07-a-118052/
Tomorrow at Bikini's Bar and Grill. We have parking spots reserved so you won't miss us. Plus its all RXs so we're pretty hard to miss. Canary can add more.

****, don't even worry about your car, last 2 meetings I had to attend in loaner cars lol
So the meeting is at 6:30pm, open to non-members, doesn't cost anything, etc. Bikini's is the place and it is right on the feeder along 35N right before St. John's. We have reserved seating and reserved parking as well. It looks like I'll finally make a meeting with my car (no stereo yet though) for the first time in 2 months.
Come on out and meet some folks, grab some food and/or a beer etc. and hang out, who knows, we might even convince you to go on a drive some time (some day I hope to be able to go on one again, car hasn't been running right and/or I haven't had it the last couple of times...grrr)

I feel wierd today ... I really don't want to show up with my gold wheels today. I'm just not digging the gold wheels today. I should put on the race wheels for the hell of it.

you should go with the gold on one side and the race wheels on the other, that would be mad tyte mang. Meeting is still on rain or shine, and I'm definitely going and definitely have my car. I'm down for some rental beating too, maybe we can do reverse donuts with it

Note: I have several neighbors here on the beach that moved from the north east, and they moved because it was lower cost of living. But beware that we have no state income tax, therefore the Property taxes are way higher than you are used to. I only say that because I have so many neighbors who complain, didn't budget at first well for it, especially when your appraised value goes up each year.

yep, property tax is nuts, wonder how much it will be on all the new condos that are sprouting up everywhere around here, sure would like to own a home some day but crap is it getting expensive here.

Well it seems Austin has won us over, with the exception of the nobody speeding, that was pretty creepy. Up here 80+ is the flow of traffic in a 55.

Heh...traffic is too congested normally...when the traffic is light speeding is rampant...if you really want your jollies, use the tollroad...heh

I never really hi too much traffic, only heading downtown on friday and thats to be expected. Even when traffic was light maybe 1 or 2 above the limit. I heard speeding fines are no joke down there, im thinking of a multiple radar detector conversion
