Havent watched this thread since install, so forgive me if this has been addressed. Goodbox installed for 2-3 weeks, Occasionally when I start the car abs and traction control lights stay on while driving. Is this a common occurrence? thanks

 

I have never seen this in mine, nor have I heard any reports from this. The GOODbox does not do any interfacing to the traction control systems at all, so I doubt it is causing this.

What I do know is that when you disconnect the battery, the DSC OFF and traction control lights will stay on because you have to re-initialize the traction control system by turning the wheel lock-to-lock, then restarting the car. Maybe you caused a short somewhere while wiring? Make sure no wires are exposed.
Or maybe your battery is dying?

 

i'm liking my goodbox more and more as time goes on. great product.

 

Mine doesn't work.

Triple checked all connections, color by color, from harness to harness with multimeter, all good, but the LCD acts like there is nothing connected with stock look. Pressing SEL button on the GoodBox is suppose to turn it on, does nothing. The red LED inside blinks slowly. Disconnecting the GoodBox harness and LCD goes in "slot machine" effect.
BTW, the brown wire on the head unit harness is somehow confusing for me. There is 3 wires - one more like orange, one more like light brown (using this one) and one more like yellowish.
Looking to verify signal from the harness diagram on that one.

The red blinking light means that the GOODbox is not seeing the car's ECU. This will happen if you hooked up the blue/white or green/black wires near the TPMS module incorrectly.

Sounds like you picked the right color, but if you send me a picture of your connections, I let you know for sure.

 

I'm getting more convinced that this is coming from a low-voltage condition. Last night I was messing with the box for about 3 hours (on the phone with Pieter) exploring some firmware options. My car has an Odyssey 925MJT battery which, while not tiny, has about 1/2 the stock battery capacity. The car was not started, interior lights were on, and for about half that time, the ignition was on as well. About 2.5 hours into this, I started getting the slot machine on the head unit display. As I continued, this effect quickly got worse. A check of the battery voltage gave 11.79v. After 5 minutes of charging at 2A (I'd forgotten to switch the charger off its trickle charge mode), the problem went away.

 

OK. That was helpful. Rechecked the CAN +/- connections and it's working now.
Just a small glitch - now and then for a split of a second the GoodBox is like loosing the CAN signal (LCD goes to stock). It might be low battery like HiFlite999 suspects. Will keep an eye on it.

If it the LCD goes stock you might have a loose connection in the LCD display connections.

Actually after some driving this glitch is gone. All good.
I already experienced the famous "slot machine" effect. Reconnecting the GoodBox connector fixed it.

There is a single dot present on every single GB screen except the startup one with the custom text. It's out of place, even can be mistaken for a decimal point on some gauges, ie IAT107 looks like IAT10.7
I think it is not suppose to be there:

It's part of the FM frequency, ie 95.5
When switch to AM, ie 530, the dot disappears, so screens are like has to be.
So no FM for me?

 

Hmm, I could probably fix this with a firmware upgrade, but you'd have to ship the goodbox back to me (just the box, not the connectors or harness).
If you do that, be sure to use a small piece of wire to short the light and dark green wires in the harness connector to make the display behave like stock.

I'll have to experiment on my car to find out what number the display uses to address that particular segment, the dot. It already turns off the minute and second quotes if you are playing a cd.

How is a voltage regulator going to help when your supply voltage is dropping lower than desired?

 

I'm still waiting for mine, and I'm not the most patient person in the world. Is there any way to track this thing?

 

I believe it also acts as a voltage amplifier, so it works within a certain voltage range.
