Only cat temp, and it is calculated off the rear O2, and is wildly inaccurate. Not useful.

Canbus dianostic connection

Couple hints!
1) Do as HiFlite999 says and check the spade connectors when inserting them. Check through the plastic on both sides to make sure it goes "in". I had to check all my wiring twice as I missed one.

2) Unclip the OBD2 connector and let it hang. much easier to splice the wires on that way.
*I'll post pics of this step if someone wants*

3) If you are hooking up the goodbox as per the instructions and are placing the unit in the ashtray area. I didn't drill any holes. I just unscrewed the metal tab that holds (snaps) in the ashtray and there is more the enough room to run the wiring harness up there. I haven't put a vacuum line through, but may at a later date.

Got the goodbox today in good shape. Thanks for shipping as we had discussed.
Good product!

Here is a picture of the hookup at the diagnostic connector for all of you that don't have the TPMS in your car.

The picture shows the diagnostic connector unclipped and hanging.

My AccessPort can't connect to ECU and read Life Data when GB is ON. If GB is OFF AP reads the data.
If AP displays for example RPM and I turn the GB ON to display any other data (not RPM), AP keeps displaying RPM but the GB does not respond to any key press until I disconnect the AP.
If again AP displays RPM and I turn the GB ON to display the same RPM data, AP is loosing connection with the ECU instantly and can't connect until GB is turned OFF.
So the statement from the installation guide is not valid:
"Gauges are read approximately 4 times per second, so the GOODbox should not
interfere with any data logging devices you might be using."

Can anyone else with AP or any OBD reader confirm this?
I wanted to monitor boost and AFR with GB and logging with AP but right now this seems impossible and kills the GB idea of not using any external gauges.

Pieter, the GB is pointless if that is the case.

I will check after work, I will test both my AP and my Hymee. I can confirm that the Goodbox does not interfere with the Scangauge II because I had mine plugged in for a day or two after I installed my Goodbox.

the ap works just fine with the gb turned off. why do you need to watch the gb the few times you're datalogging on the ap? just datalog with gb off and turn it back on when you're done.

At least it was advertised that way.

It's ease for you to say (S/C), but what about the turbo guys not yet tuned?
What if you miss overboost or/with lean AFRs while logging WOT data for early MM AP tuning? I don't want to know... What's the point for any gauges then...

I'm planning a CarPC install with an OBD connection. This may also cause me problems.

BTW SC-ed, have you had the 'slot machine' since installing resistors?

Yes, rarely but I suspect the connector on the back of the GB is the problem. Once in a while some of the pins loose connection and needs to be pushed in, which might cause my "slot machine". I'd rather say the resistors fixed the "slot machine" effect.
The connector is so week. I put a small brace with a screw to keep it not moving.

Another thing it suppose to do and not doing it.
Today had a P0410 MIL (air pump removed) and this thing tells me No Codes Set... WTF...
Anything else this thing CAN'T do?!?!?! This thing is buggy...
And the support is dead already I guess...

Basically cause the sensor isn;t designed for any kind of rapid response. It's purpose isn't to give you EGT readings...just to tell the PCM the CAT is warm enough or too hot...Kinda like a NB O2 sensor trying to measure anything but stoich

absolutely... its useless for being meaningful anyway because its so damn far away. BUT that means nothing to its accuracy

Whilst wasting time waiting (still waiting ) for my sensors to arrive, I happened across a discussion of wiring loom repair techniques in a build thread on another forum I frequent. Someone referenced the VW factory guidelines on repairing wires that carry CAN bus lines. The guidance was that one should always make sure to twist those pairs together, but that where splices and connectors occur, an un-twisted length of up to 50mm (~2") is acceptable.

I'm just wondering whether it's worth doing this to the specific wires connecting the GOODbox to the car's CAN lines, given that they are not a twisted pair as-shipped and relatively lengthy.

This actually might be a good thing to do. CAN wiring in the car is all twisted pairs. Do it if you can. It might help with the random display corruption everyone is getting.

BTW GB working and logging with another device simultaneously is a CAN limitation. We can't have 2 external devices connected to CAN and pulling data at the same time.

Cool, I will do this, then.

I hope after twisting-up the pair doesn't become too short for my needs - probably won't lose more than an inch or two.

Thinking along the same lines, are any of the wires connecting to the LCD carrying a serial protocol pair that could benefit from twisting? Only Pieter will know, I guess...

I don't see anything audio/display thing on the diagram I posted connected to CAN so no need. Otherwise Pieter would get the CAN LO/HI signals from that harness and not worry about cars w/o TPMS.

Okay guys, having the Good Box on does interfere withe the COBB data logging. I just usually unplug the Good Box but i am afraid if I keep doing that the connector might screw up.

Can we wire up and on off switch for the Good box that will short the green wires to make the display normal while the Good Box is off?
