well if you believe everything that's been posted it sounds like everybody would have come out ahead if the money had been refunded two years ago when it all started

i didn't feel like its my place to put that out there, not being involved in the situation in any way, but now that it is, i mean good god... isn't that just the completely obvious solution??

give the guy his money back, even now. seems like there'd be plenty of people lining up to buy from MM regardless, whenever in the world the kits get done.

there's just no excuse whatsoever to hold onto someone's money and their product for any extended period of time, no matter what the circumstances are with the product. if you can't deliver, give the money back, and then you have all the time in the world to work out whatever your issues are, with the community's support. when you have the product, ask for payment again.

if you don't have the money, interest rates are at an all time low. a 2k loan at 10% apr is like 16 bucks a month.

maybe... again, i'm not here to start beef over something i have no stake in, but the right thing to do is clear. he could if he really wanted to. instead of falling short $2000 a month, he could be taking out aforementioned loan and falling short $2016 instead, and carbon is happy. or since he's apparently habitually stiffing someone or another 2k every month, one would think he could extend that to 3k or hell the full 4k for a month.

i mean this whole you-can't-get-blood-from-a-turnip thing... c'mon. he's not some ricer punk and you go call his parents. he's a grown man.

An offer.

Any one that would like to stand in line for my turbo, in my stead, may do so for the discounted price of $1500. This is a discount of $300 over what I paid to Jeff (not counting shipping) and at a minimum $500 over what you might pay, if sales ever come on line again, for "new." Also, if I were to ever receive my kit, I would put it up for sale immediately at a price of at least $1900.

Payment would constitute agreement by the payer (you) that the payer would accept all risk involved. Effectively you would accept my sorry *** position in line for an upgrade kit that you have now paid for and my possibly NEVER receive. Any and all disputes will hold me blameless. I would agree to either have the kit shipped directly to you, or ship it to you at no cost upon receipt from Jeff, without opening the box. It would be yours from time of payment.

Paypal is my username at yahoo.com.

This offer may be withdrawn at anytime.

Well, it is an excellent suggestion.

I am editing my prior offer and will post the official version shortly. What I am selling is a binding option to buy my kit the moment it is available. When you buy the option, you take receipt of said option immediately. Sall of the kit itself will occur when the kit is available to me.

For example, someone pays $1500 and buys the option to buy the kit. That person receives what they paid for. The option. When the kit is available to me, I will sell the kit to that person for the pre-agreed option price of $1.

Legally and ethically, this is a preferable method of dealing with this even though the outcome is the same.

I dont know, it is a precarious position for all. Someone with inside information, or a deep belief in Jeff, could pick this up with almost no risk.

On the other hand, you could be out your money, for a very, very long time.

As for the option expiration, it'll be on some triple witching hour, sometime. I will have to consider it.

I think carbon's offer is quite reasonable for anyone looking for this upgrade, since he's likely done the bulk of the waiting and you get to skip most of the line at a discounted price.

Let's face it, if you're considering buying this upgrade anyways, it's better then going to the back of the line.

no one is disputing that what happened to carbon is totally unacceptable, and we all know he should get his $ back...

that being said... to turn around and to even suggest for him in good conscience to pass along this mess to another fellow rx-8 owner by the way of what we all know is a BS sale- regardless of declaration of risk or whatever other rationalized crapolla u guys can think up- is like, a million times worse!

u can't cover **** in chocolate and then say, "look it's ****, but there's fudge on it." **** is ****, ok?

so... just because someone screwed me over and someone else is "dumb enough" to to buy or take on my risk, then that makes it totally OK for me to go ahead and screw them over instead- just because they are willing to bend over?

i'm sorry... rationalize it upside down & backwards, but what you guys are proposing is just wrong.

if someone screws you over, then get a lawyer and take him to court- small claims or whatever. and, exercise your legal rights. don't try to blur the lines of right and wrong with some concocted BS scheme to ponzi someone else- declaration or not. you are just as much scum as MM if you exercise a plan like this. and, karma is a bitch.

Your point is taken, but the information is all out there. I am simply providing a possibility for a person to get a kit for a deal, while financing my own build. I dont expect anyone that cant lose the money to take the deal and will screen accordingly.

It's just a bad, bad, idea. IMO

I understand it's a legitimate way to do business and is done all the time, but that doesn't make it the right thing to do.
