I also agree, I am not sure what the FIA is thinking. First they raise prices on tickets, then wonder why they are short of ppl at Spa. I swear bernie and his goons are really destroying F1, someone must put a stop their madness. Only if superman was real, he would know what to do.

Probably the best line besides get Flavio on the Phone. "Don't worry, he could still support ALonso instead" that had me rolling.

Hmmm ... if memory serves me correctly, BMW had a 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder, turbo-charged F1 engine that was producing over 1200 HP (closer to 1300, I think). This was back in the turbo era, mid-1980s. I think it broke a lot, too hehe

We were both wrong, they were v6 engines
The power outputs were of 900 and around 1500hp in race and qualifying trim.

The cars now have around 750bhp (2.4l, v8), the most powerful NA unit was a 3.0l bmw engine of the pre 2.4l era with around 900bhp.

I guess we shall wait and see, especially turbo dimension and pressure regulations. A 4 banger with 1.5bars is not going to be interesting. 4 bars like they had back the eighties though...

Well, memory didn't serve me correctly, then

If/when F1 ever gets back to turboed engines and ground-effect cars, the engines will more than likely be castrated for "safety" reasons.

FORMULA ONE: FERRARI ACCUSE MCLAREN OF SECRET TEAM ORDERS

FERRARI officials claim other teams use codes such as “the cat is out of the house” to tell their drivers to switch positions during races but that is unlikely to impress an FIA hearing in Paris today.

The loss of their points in the constructors’ championship, the deduction of the points won by Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa with their controversial 1-2 at the German Grand Prix or a huge increase in the £65,000 fine handed down are options open to the FIA.

More likely is a one-year suspended sentence for using team orders, but that will be seen by many outside F1 as pandering to the might of Ferrari, who blatantly broke a rule preventing them switching drivers around.

Drivers' road offences get FIA attention

The FIA has suggested that Formula 1 drivers who commit road traffic offences could lose their superlicences as a punishment for their conduct.
.......
The issue of racing drivers' conduct in road cars hit the headlines earlier this year when Lewis Hamilton was stopped by Australian traffic police who objected to his driving as he left the Albert Park circuit. He was later fined by a Melbourne court.

LMAo, Ferrrari. So who fault is it really that other teams can umm come up with team orders that are not so obvious. I mean I could of came up with a team order for Ferrari such as, "Massa the flamer riding the pink horse is prancing around very fruity like."

"The incident, 17 laps from the end of the Hockenheim race, was handled without much subtlety when Alonso, who had been whining on the radio about being quicker than leader Massa and worrying about the chasing McLarens, was allowed to overtake.
Yep taht sounds like alonso

Like we all predicted, just another slap on the wrist. Ferrari is a bunch of rats, trying to take down other teams with them.

Ferrari looks set to escape further sanction over its alleged deployment of team orders in the German Grand Prix.

The team was fined $100,000 by the Hockenheim race stewards and referred to the FIA World Motor Sport Council after Felipe Massa slowed and allowed Fernando Alonso to pass him for the lead - with the Spaniard going on to take a win that resurrected his title bid.

The WMSC hearing over the matter took place in Paris today, but Angelo Sticchi Damiani, head of Italian motorsport federation the CSAI, told reporters outside that the governing body had agreed unanimously not to impose any extra punishment, according to the Reuters news agency.

Team orders have been banned in Formula 1 since the outcry over Ferrari's handling of the 2002 Austrian Grand Prix, when Rubens Barrichello handed victory to team-mate Michael Schumacher within sight of the chequered flag - even though the German already had a comfortable lead.

Suspicions were aroused at Hockenheim when Ferrari informed Massa over the radio that Alonso was "faster" than him, and then asked if he "understood" the message. Shortly afterwards, the Brazilian relinquished the lead and was subsequently thanked by his engineer Rob Smedley, who also said "sorry" in the same radio transmission.

Ferrari argued that it was Massa's own choice to cede the lead, and that it had simply presented the situation to him over the radio. Alonso had been the quicker of the Ferrari drivers for much of the weekend, but was passed by his team-mate at the start.

Now that they have made a ruling, get rid of the damn rule all together. All of the major teams do it, and everyone knows it. Don't make it such a grey area that requires teams to purposefully botch pit stops, constantly remind drivers of their "low fuel," etc.

If you honestly thought that was going to go any other way then I feel bad for you. They didn't have conclusive evidence, they just had assumptions based off of what they saw. If they had more we would have known about it by now.

There's a reason they pushed the date of the hearing out so far and it was because they wanted to try to get media attention away from it. They knew from the start there wasn't going to be any further action.

Everyone will come away from this fine. It's not like Alonso is going to win the championship anyways. He, along with Ferrari, screw themselves over too often for that to happen. That said it'd be fun if he did. The media would just LOVE that. lol

Well don’t feel sorry for me, feel sorry for yourself, for taking your time with a ridiculous post. If you really thought that I was thinking that the FIA was going to punish Ferrari, then you really do not read any of my past post. I am the last person who would think otherwise. The FIA is Ferrari <^_~>

You apparently didn't read any of mine either.

As stupid as Ferrari is, at least it's entertainment. F1 has had plenty of that to provide this year.

You dont know how hard it is to breathe hamilton on a daily basis. Yes i know that sounded pretty ghey and i admit that, but being a hamilton number one fan is a full time job.

Prediction?

Seriously, I think Lewis is going to take the Championship again. This time it will be with less controversy even though they had a tough start to the season and their car hasn't always been the most dominant.

Paul.

LMAO that had me rolling. Would be funny if they had some van that drives through town at 7AM that plays a recording of Hamilton talking, then at 12, then at 5pm. PPl woudl have to stop what they are doing.

I think Webber is the hottest candidate now. However I wonder if he will slump feeling the pressure of the championship on him.

My bet is on Webber now though, and I just shudder at the thought of how annoying this will make ASH8
