In 2008 he was very successful when he had a car that suited him. His strongest point was consistency in my opinion. He won very few races last year and still he was in the top in the drivers standing.

Now in 2009 when the BMW sucks he has not outperformed Heidfeld. They have been almost equal, with Heidfeld slightly stronger.

Here is Kubica vs Heidfeld positions in the 2009 season:
Kubica Heidfeld
14 10
Ret 2
13 12
18 19
11 7
Ret 11
7 11
13 15
14 10
13 11
8 11
4 5

Quite obviously Heidfeld has been doing better and is higher up in the drivers standings.

So to answer your statement, Kubica is brilliant when the car fits him (like Button). But when the car does not exactly fit him he falls down to mid-pack (also like Button).

well he sure is a cry baby that is for sure. everytime heifield out performed him last year, he would come up with some excuse dissing BMW.

they are drivers who blame them selves and the team when a car isnt working right (because they are part of the team as a whole) and they are drivers who just blames the team, and act like they are not part of the problem.,and that is kubica.

you wont see drivers like massa, and hamilton dissing their team , they always include themselves with the team when the car isnt performing right.

Yep, you bet. He made it to the top tier of motorsport in the world, and drove for a manufacturer team by virtue of his being a crybaby and throwing the team under the bus. According to your logic another manufacturer would have thrown money at Nelson Piquet Jr. to get him to come back after Renault.

difference with piquet and kubica is, piquet didnt go to the media blaming renault, till after he got fired. where kubica was crying to the media while being on the team. crying about the team that pays you this huge check.

also teh ppl servicing that car, how does that make them feel when your driver is out there crying and making a fool out of them to the media? think that brings their morale up?

you can compare piquet to kubica , that is you. but at least one did it correctly (while not on the team) where the other just doesnt care.

also like to add. when kubica won some races last year, i never heard him thank his team. but when ever he doesnt do well, he is the first to oust his team. now i dont respect drivers who doesnt add them selves to the problem. these ppl work long hours for him, wiht out them he couldnt have won those races last year.

probably why i respect hamilton alot. when he doesnt do well, he tells teh media, ME and the TEAM have alot to work out. he doesnt go out and say, my teams sucks, and i probably dont want to race for them next year. and when he wins, he thanks his team mates. because its his team who puts in all the work, he just drives the car.

its like soccer, you never see the captian of the team blame his 3 fowards for not scoring, or blaming the sweeper , goalie or halfbacks for their lost.

but these are my opinions on how a driver should treat his team members.

I think you are too harsh on Kubica now Alfy. Of course he is bitter when he was in the championship fight 2008 and BMW decided to focus on the 2009 car instead. Now when the 2009 car flopped Kubica has all the right to be very bitter. Some idiotic management decisions caused him to lose out on the title fight.

However, last year he was way better than Heidfeld, but this year Heidfeld is slightly stronger than Kubica. The fighting spirit is lacking now, and that is why I consider him overrated from last year.

^^ your kinda of right that i was rather harsh on kubica. but then again, i lose respect for drivers quickely when they start blaming the team for them being slow. He spent some time whining to the media about it also. i feel that drivers should include themselves with the team, thru bad or good times, not just the good times. now i am not saying kubica is the only driver that does that, but at the same time i feel he shouldnt be bad mouthing a team who is putting alot of work into the car . because with out their hard work, he coulndt had won any races last year.

pretty much i dont like whiners lol.

just like Bordai, he blamed his team for him being slow to the media. but after he gets fired, he admitted that he was not good at setting up the car.

Massa Quits F1, to play Sherlock Holmes

glad i am not the only who thougth it was weird when piquet crashed. i always found it funny how Renault was talking about getting rid of piquet at the end of 2008 season, before the singapore crash. lol i wonder who Polo will side with on this one lol, massa or alsono winning was not due to a cheat.

http://www.worldcarfans.com/10909032...t-piquet-crash

Felipe Massa suspected Nelson Piquet crashed deliberately at Singapore last year and confronted Flavio Briatore about the incident in person, it has emerged.

It had been presumed in recent days that the source of the accusation must have been Piquet and his famous father, still furious after being recently ousted by Renault boss Briatore.

But reports this week suggest that Brazilian Massa, who drives for Ferrari, immediately suspected that Piquet had been asked to crash on purpose so that the safety car would emerge and the sister Renault of Fernando Alonso win the race.

"He crashed in a very strange way," TV Globo commentator Reginaldo Leme is quoted as saying.

"It struck me when I was talking recently with Felipe Massa. Felipe had gone to Briatore and said, 'This crash was not right, it happened because you wanted it to'."

Leme also said other drivers had been suspicious of the Piquet crash.

Massa had led comfortably from pole position in Singapore last September until the Alonso safety car, but when he made his pitstop he then famously drove away with the fuel hose still attached.

Now recovering from injury, Ferrari's Massa lost the 2008 world championship to Lewis Hamilton by a single point.

What deal with the devil did Vijay make? Is he really okay with giving up Fisichella just after he wins their first constructor points?

Hmm. Did someone trade him a draft pick or something?

It is believed that Force India owed some money to Ferrari in last year's engine deal, although Vijay insists there were no money nor was it the reason Vijay agreed to release Giancarlo to Ferrari.

Seriously though this sounds like a twilight zone episode for him or something.

"You will have your podium finish Vijay. And then I will come to collect my payment."

Damnnn!!! Now I am even more furious! If this is indeed true, Renault needs to be penalized and even suspended indefinitely. This is not the way to win races... common... I know we all joke about some of these things, but it's a completely different feeling when a team wins by cheating. That I do not justify and should be penalized to the fullest unlike the "slap on the wrist" type of what McLaren got.

What is even worse is that if this is true, Massa was the one affected the most!! He should have won the championship last year and this "point" made a BIG difference.

You know I am a big fan of Alonso and Massa, but cheating?? no way!! Very disappointed..

Carlos
ps. Happy to see Fisi in Ferrari... finally an italian at Monza! Sir... you can keep selling tickets now

yah i agree, i feel none of us take this seriously. but either way, that race woudnt have effected massa. since his pit screwed up. but man if his pit didnt, yep he would be the champion. cant believe that i am saying that lol.

but yah, massa seemed pretty pissed . i mean for order for him to go up to Flavor Flav and just pretty much accuse him of wrong doing. also if you watch the video, you see piquet is full throttle around that corner, you would think he would of slowed down. like i said, i always thought that crash was funny.

for weeks before that race all , only thing we heard was Piquet is going to lose his job etc. then after that race, you never heard about piquet losing his job till this season.and we all know how badly piquet was last year. except he made second at nurb track i think? due to pit strat.

I think we were a bit "stricter" on pure F1 discussion last year. Just like bse50 says, this has become our own little BS thread.

I think it is a lovely little talking place and I have caught myself ignoring the other threads on the forum lately. My RX-8 runs fine. I am done with my MM tune. Nah, I will just hang around here.
