Momentum Keeps Me Going
^ Cool watching things happen in a completely foreign culture. Although you can guess (for the most part) what's going on... the music, the staged pagentry, the pinata, the dark unlighted entry and staging, and the suits and the overall workers stuff is a bit strange. Perhaps a translation or a second intro skit in English would be useful for their marketing...
Beyond that - Good luck to them! May their production lead to great things. And let's hope we get the wagon too.

The new 6 is nice. Is it nice enough? I don't think. Still looks a little too pedestrian IMO. It will have too much competition from Accord, Altima, Camry and the likes. The Shinari was beautiful. That's the car they should've made. Even if that meant going upmarket a bit.

they are sort of pulling an Apple. The one thing I think Apple actually does deserve credit for. By the time they get through the launches of the car at Moscow and Paris this stock they are building now should be just about arriving in European dealers. "Here it is and you can buy it next week"

Presentation...
I don't find it strange at all, Mazda and all Japanese manufacturers do this for new generation models, have been for decades...it just 'the public' are seeing more of it on video.
This is REAL, the dedication for most of their employees is REAL, they DO take real pride in their products, manufacturing and service...
It is not fluff or BS, Mazda employees (like most Japanese car makers) really take this ceremony all very seriously for the wellbeing and sales success of this all new model.
There is a REAL human connection/pride with every car they make...every car.
Remember when the Cougar Ace listed (almost sunk) and all the 4703 cars bound for North America were crushed and recycled in the US?...
ALL the employees came back for 2 days in their holiday break to re-clone every one of the 4703!....That is the dedication, humanity they put in what they do.
And another reason why, I only buy Mazda's made/assembled in Japan...even if the new 6 is now 'only' 78% made in Japan.
I love this stuff...
BTW: The Wagon is coming to North America.

Wish we could say the same for Mazda's dealership/service network here in the US.

The center console and what seems to be a mulimedia control with **** I like. The inset naviscreen again makes me speculate whether or not they took the same damn unit from the CX-5. Not a fan in the CX-5 and definitely not a fan of it in Mazda's FLAGSHIP car. Sorry, but everything about the HVAC looks dated already and this is quite unfortunate.
If it looks like a CX-5 inside the new 6 then they are giving away sales to their competition. I sure hope not.
Paul.

Reposting this from the other thread... I don't see any major differences in dash design compared to the CX-5. Extremely unfortunate for Mazda. Not very well thought out in my opinion. Practically the whole competition is ahead with center console design. Honda, Toyota, and even Hyundai. VERY disappointed.

Not seeing what you are SNTP...
I guess it's all personal preference though.
The others look like they are designed to pull you away from driving...
Camry: (Doesn't look easy to use at all from the driver's perspective, looks like the passenger is supposed to be sharing in it)
Accord: (WAY too much packed into the space, and looks clunky)
Sonata: (futuristic, but still inferior in my opinion)
