Tha Speed3 was a success only in the states. Very few were sold here in europe. Price, gas cost and performance played a big role. We have better alternatives such as the Megane r26 and the Focus Rs. They are sportier, handle better and have much more factory and aftermarket support for just a tiny price difference.
Mazda needs to focus on the most common versions and offer them at the same price as their competition... right now mazdas are perceived as an average brand that's still more expensive. Manufacturers like VW, Ford, Renault and fiat are hard to dethrone if you don't build a customers base. Right now the only way to build it is with cheaper cars that perform better.

More on the paint...
Closely matching the concept is the body colour used in the teaser images, which Mazda calls 'Soul Red', claimed to be created using a new paint process that can “capture both the deepness and vividness of the colour”.

I'm liking that. If the TT SKyActive diesel plus AWD is available for it, I think it would take the top honors from the CX-5 in appeal to me. Especially if that is AWD diesel MT.

As for the new Mazda6, it is quite a damn good looker outside. Though I hope it's just the dark exposure hiding the aggressive lines, as I was expecting something even more aggressive. If the interior looks anything like the spy pics (almost exact replica of the CX-5), then I would be some what disappointed.

The way they did the tails in a dark plastic reminds me of the FD RX-7's.
It will be perfect if an aftermarket parts company (E.G. AutoEXE) makes an open grills for it to delete the horizontal slits. I wouldn'nt mind a lip to make the bottom chin a bit more aggressive and perhaps foglight accents to bring it closer to the Takeri concept.
None the less, it looks great as is. Finally, a design language that works exceptionally well for Mazda while keeping the signature 5 point grill. Can't wait for the wagon form.
