hey Jaii! Lucky you, no CEL on when your steering shudders like that, I have all the symptoms! hahhaha! well, after like 2 months of vibration, i'm used to it. just warm the car up like 3-5 mins, the steering will return to normal. As for my ongoing CEL light, it's like a special feature of the car i enjoy...&(^&%*I&...selling the junk soon.

I would say all problematic car is a great car! Due to no expert engineer so we found it hard to maintain. So, in Malaysia, we always have to be your own Sifu when come to problem. khekhekhke...

Same thing happen to my BMW. Do jump into BMW forum, you see similar situation as our RX8. Perhaps, their parts are more expensive.

Every car has its own set of problems..... I for 1 think the Rx8 problems aren't that bad...... Rx7 FD3S was worse..... Im enjoying ownership of my current Rx8.....

i agree with effie. i would have to deal with fuel starvation everyday if i have a rx7.
and the fear for detonation everyday.

Don't do it, you'll regret it later.... I sold my Rx7 to buy an Evo5 and regretted my decision later on...... But if ur hell bent on changing down (i don't consider buying a Subaru Ver.8 an upgrade...hence the term changing down but NOT changing up.) than the BEST version would be the Impreza S203....... Coz, that the only Version 8 Scooby that i'd even consider buying. If you talking bout Ver 9 that it'll have to be the Impreza RA-R.......

actually, it's an upgrade coz sti is more powerful, fuel consumption about the same as RX8, it handles better than RX8.

It's a downgrade looks wise coz RX8 definitely get you more chicks than STi

Nope....i think the Rx8 handles better than the WRX..... I agree that the WRX has more power BUT its interior is VERY CHEAP looking...... That's the main reason i didn't buy 1...... I too like the STi, was even doubting myself when i ended up getting the 8 over the STi........ BUT, i think i made the right choice......

The biggest concern bout the Scooby is the fact that it kinda looks like a WAJA from certain angles..... Especially so the rear taillights.....

Not that im saying that i wouldn't buy an STI.... I love the STI, BUT...... i wouldn't trade my 8 for an STi..... I'd work harder to get it while still keeping my 8....LOLZ.....

In the end.... its the same argument i had 10 years ago when i had my Rx7.... Look at the Rx7 today, still an awesome car that performs very well and still turns heads. Where did all the GC8 Impreza's go to???? I wouldn't even give it a second glance if i came across one...... Thank God i didn't buy the GC8 STi's.... Almost did though.....phew.... luckily i didn't get it.....
