Ur salary want to buy RX8?No way!Unless ur dad r rich and he will pay the down payment or u got more than 60k saving otherwise forget about it.even ur dad help u pay the downpayment u also need to suffering for the monthly payment with ur "3k" salary.imagine ur 3k salary got atleast 60% to the car installment then no need to eat no need to takcle girl liao ah?If u or somebody can support u for the full payment for the car then i got nothing to say but Pls plan wisely or only buy when u got extra money....Anyway,nothing good about RX8 ler(Oppsss...did i just mentioned something...don't shoot me pls)
But my problem is the maintainance of the car
if the engine suddenly blows ..i nid to know badly what if i really take care of the car like put it checking for every months , and i seldom drive it except weekends, will it still blows unexpectedly ? I know i m too poor to own 1 , but i wish i could at least owning 1 for couple of years.

Hi everyone ..i m from Kedah...just graduated and found a 3k salary job ..i m a Big fans of RX8....so close and going to get 1 recon unit rx8 till i found this forum and after reading over hundreds of threads , it put me a stop from getting it. I really like 8's so mch lol .. but the replacement of engine issue is real too steep for a fresh graduate like me
A stupid and repeated question . is there any possibility to avoid replacement of the engine? i planning to drive it only on weekends..and i hv read thru those ignition coil/ sparks plugs/ wiring / engine oil/ air intakes/ filter problems, i will only making 10-15k mileage for a year i guess.. without any modding plan of cuz ..
i would like to know if i could take care of these issues ..will the engine last longer ? i luv this car so mch ...but i m not a rich guy ..its so cruel for me if rx8 will remain as my dream car once again ..sob sob....

Umm my downpayment will pay by my mum which is around 80k..i planning to pay 1k max for installment every months .
But my problem is the maintainance of the car if the engine suddenly blows ..i nid to know badly what if i really take care of the car like put it checking for every months , and i seldom drive it except weekends, will it still blows unexpectedly ?

Weekend car?? That means you're might be financially ok..... You can't avoid engine replacement but you can overhaul it b4 it blows..... Becos many who blows their engines doesn't take care their car, n know nothing about rotary engine...... Regular engine oil change, engine diagnose, rev it once a while to clear carbon, then you won't have problem...... You need luck on your side too..... 16k is the most you need in case you blow.....

dont worry much about the car, i am sure if worst case happen to your car, ur mom will pay the RM16k for the new engine, so you can start shopping for ur car now. good luck..

when u say that "16k" i tot u talking about the mileage what, as u didn't mention about the "16kRM" who know wow.If every 16k km engine will blow i think most of the members now already sell the car since last 2 years.......
