I also have a provisional date from JCT600 (Leeds though). Mine is a high powered black with no extras. I have also been told 20th December but the dealer said that the oats are arriving early and there is a good chance of getting it before then.

Good luck on getting it early - we need a bit of a break!

I know that Leeds had (when I went for a test drive on the 10th-ish of Sept) 67 orders to the 5 of Bradford and they were giving me (joking) grief about going to Bradford :p

I don't know if more orders in a dealership means quicker or slower (hoped the latter) delivery, but the guy I spoke to this afternoon on the phone at Bradford said now the 21st so the date is already slipping. The guy did say they'd try to have it before Christmas Eve, but I'll not hold my breath...

Have you had a test drive yet; Have the Leeds dealership got their demo models in yet? I'm hoping for a second (longer) testdrive over the weekend...

It's getting oh -so close to someone actually driving their own RX-8! It makes the 20th Nov seem so far away but with finance etc to arrange I'm sure I'll be in the car before I know it. Just the matter of fitting my passengers in it for a test drive now.

Just spoken to my dealer. Date for mine is now 25th November, which is date to dealer. Cars also appear to be beating the dates in many cases according to them. Booked another drive for tomorrow morning of their new demonstrator.

It makes me think of the interest I could have gained on a grand for the sake of waiting 5 days!

Hi everybody,

Also I spoke to my dealer today. I found out that my car just left Japan and is somwhere on the ocean. It is expected to arrive in Antwerp end of November and should arrive at my dealer around the 5th of December. Not as soon as some of you, but I will probally drive in my 8 before Christmas this year. I can't wait!!!!
To keep me busy, my dealer offered me today, at the price of 99 Euro's a nice watch with a rotor in the middle that turns around and points out the time.
Kind regards,

Eric

What a shame they haven't made the rotor the right size for the combustion chamber. For E99 I'd want it to look like the real thing.

Cheers

You'd need a custom-made movement for it to rotate in the chamber properly - could be done, but not cheaply for the quantities they're dealing with. (I'm guessing runs of a few thousand).

My dealer finally tells me that I should have my RX8 no later than 15th Jan 2004.

I am a bit disappointed not to get it this year to say the least. I did only order on 29th July though but I still thought more cars would be coming to these shores quicker than they are.

I still havn't driven one so I plan a test drive now - maybe I can arrange a 3 month one until my car comes?

I can't see you listed on the EP register - what colour / spec did you order? If it's not one of the launch colours then I'm not so surprised but if it is I'm amazed that the date is so far back.

Spoke to my dealer today. 25th November still on (he only has 8 cars on pre-order). He claimed I will drive away no later than the 30th November....5 days prep...how does that compare with other forum members (some of you seem to be giving the impression that your dealers need 3 weeks?)

Mine also has 8 on order, and is saying he can turn around the car to me within 48 hours of delivery (no accessories to be fitted). That sounds a bit quick, and I hope I can get the paperwork sorted in time. I'd better not be waiting for an insurance cover note to come through the postal strike.

Cheers

Ive just had a letter from my dealer stating my estimated pick up date is 14/11, so only 2 weeks to go.

Cheers chaps -

Now - can I resist driving past the dealer this weekend... hmmmm...

As I said on the other forum - I was told 11th Nov , so it bodes well for us that these cars seem to be (ironically) coming through a bit earlier...
Maybe Mazda wanted to give us all a wry smile !

Heres hoping it all happens....

Guys: at my dealer tonight to view their red dealer car and they also had a silver and a Titanium in which were customer cars. Much to my annoyance they were letting people inside the Titanium car and even when I specifically asked them to not let people inside my car when it arrives they kind of wouldn't look me in the eye as they made the promise. Good to see the cars though: the red is tasty as (to my surprise) is the silver but if I was choosing on the night I'd go for the grey so that worked out well. The audio system was demonstrated and I've no complaints. It's way ahead of what I currently use and quite bassy (but not subwoofer bassy perhaps). The Nav system was happily getting a satellite lock INSIDE the showroom which was impressive. The fit and finish of the cars was superb and way ahead of the blue pre-prod which was all I'd seen until now. I'd not even seen the instruments illuminated so that was a revelation. Despite my 9th Nov date I'll have to wait a few more days because of having the Trackstar system fitted. Having seen how desirable the car is I'm very happy to so so though because I'm sure other more unscrupulous people will be keen to remove it from me.
