Just been to my dealer, he's going on the 27th Oct to pickup from Silverstone and my car should follow in a couple of week as I'm one of thier first orders. Also notice whilst waiting their number plate assignment sheet had the RX8 demonstrator on the list.
Also arranging a free/heavily discounted hire car to cover me from the 18th Oct.

It is fast approaching the end of September and still no sign of a delivery date (or letter).
MarkW, if you haven't done so, I will be emailing Deby Gutteridge for an update. Politeness wil run out according to the response.

Spoke to my dealer today:
They expect transporters to start arriving 28th October
They expect me to get my car 11th or 12th November .. reason being they have 15 cars to prep and it all depends on how many accesories they need to fit. Given the price of the accesories, I'm feeling pretty confident that there shouldn't be too much hold-up.

I recommend putting as much pressure on your dealer as you can to get your car out asap. In Aus. we got the dealers to start releasing them before the official launch date.
Hang in there guys.... not long now.

My dealer has back-tracked on my delivery date. They had told me cars would be arriving with them on 28th October and that I should expect mine on 11th/12th November.
Now I'm told: We can't tell you until next Wednesday when you will get your car, but we can tell you it's on a boat. Given that the ships take 31 days to get here, I could be waiting a long time.
Oh well, that'll teach me to believe everything I'm told.

Well, I just called my dealer, starting to realy hate them now.
Aparently 'the guy' that deals with the computer/orders thingey (why one, they neve heard of crosstraining?) is on holiday until next thursday.
Well if its true then for two weeks they know nothing about any customers car orders. Kinda poor.
But its 95% probably not true. I think it must be car salesman genetics or something - gives them insta-lie reflexes. A simple we dont know without the BS reply would have done.
Doesnt know when there getting the demo car, knows there picking it up from silverston, but not him (so I guess he could care less). tried to 'book' a test drive, sort of penciled in fir 3/11 afternoon - but even that was more effort for him than was worth it aparently. Didnt bother arguing or shouting , not yet anyhow. Almost let loose on how people have had two test drives already...
FSCK ridiculous customer service from both Mazda UK and the dealer. Any recomendations for a decent dealer in the NW heartily welcomed.
Oh, whilst I'm in rant mode - they tell us the car comes without a spare, then try sell us a damned spare! money grabbing bastige!

Just checked with my dealer.
They have only four cars on the system at the moment, including the demonstrator, none of which is mine.
Next update on the system will be monday night, so the earliest they will be able to tell me anything is Tuesday.
This is despite telling me last week that they would be able to tell me today.

Hi Rob,
If you received your letter this morning, it clearly states that all dealers will notify pre-order customers regarding delivery dates next week. If what your dealer tells you is true, I think you may have a case that is well worth arguing with Mazda UK/your dealer.

Rob I was told exactly the same thing.
Barry who runs the ordering system, is on holliday and won't be back till next week, no one else knows how to operate the office equipment so they can't check the ordering system till he gets back.
It was Paul I talked to on the phone.
Will call Richard now as he was off yeaterday, see if there is anyway of getting at order info, as I need vin number to register my private plate, which I'm picking up tonight.:D

Yep Richard has confirmed that Barry is the only one who car retrieve the order database info, so looks like we're stuffed, till Thursday.
Richard is allways very pleasant and as helpful as he can be but I find Paul can be a bit short sometimes (read all times), perhaps it's because I'm not one of his customers.
Richard has been selected along with Mike (service centre manager) to pick up the car from Silverstone, it could be any one of three days, 27th 28th 29th. Car will be in the showroom the day after, and probably available for test drives the day after that.
Hope that eases the frustration a bit.
Cheers.

I hear a lot of the Mazda dealers are off to some launch in Germany, which is why we won't hear until Wednesday at the earliest next week.
