Titanium Hi Power, Black Leather, Manufactured 29th September.
Date to Dealer - County Mazda, Cheltenham 24/25th November.

I'm informed that they need 9 to 14 days for PDI.

Vin Number ....103519 Mixed feelings but I'm sure the wait will be worth it.

Going today to order polished strakes and front rotary crest. I will source other accessories later.

After hearing others get the news, I couldn't wait any longer and phoned up the dealer. He explained Mazda UK hadn't given him any firm dates, but then offered to look up my order number on the computr.

He started tapping away for an age, then said "right I see it, its going to be..., lets see, the 9th", my heart sank I'm going to have to wait until December I thought, he went on "next month", not beleiving it, I said "next month as in November", "yes November" he replied, "it should be with you 48 hours later".

WHEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! DDDD

They are getting the demonstrators in next Thursday so I can finally have a test drive, and I've got until then to make up my mind if I want any over priced accessories. This is Edwards Mazda in Worcester, so if thats your dealer too, give them a ring.

BTW: The car is high power, Red/Black Leather, with sunroof, no sat nav. Which seem to be one of the first lot in.

Cheers
---Dave

Dealer called just now - 19 December is the date they have for mine on the computer. He still needs to find out if that's date to port or date to dealer... here's hoping it will be ready in time for Xmas.

The dates on the computer should be the dates to the dealer. Mine said there was some confusion over this, but it has been confirmed.

Excellent. :D Time to port seems like a pretty useless piece of information to give to the dealers anyway...

Lurcher,

I'm guessing that you'll probably be the first blue RX-8 in Scotland (and probably the UK too). I'm up in dundee for Xmas and plan to drive up in (hopefully) my brand new red one.

Yes, there is confusion and there will continue to be confusion. All dealers seem to have a different view of things. Dont forget I had a piece of paper from 'The Computer' saying 22nd October (yesterday) and it aint there yet. The dealer will build in an estimate of port to dealer when giving you a day, unless they have massive influence with the distributors. So although I had an 'available' date i still dont have a delivery to dealer date.

I am not contradicting you, I am saying look over the dealer's shoulder at the piece of paper / screen he is reading.

I went with the dealer in Worcester as I work in there rather than Cheltenham which is nearer where I live. But I think I'll be making a weekend visit up the motorway on the 9th!

It's 15 days (which is a worse case apparently) from the time it gets to port.

Just got a call from my dealer GK Group in Chesterfield, having been told to expect it late November only last week, it is being delivered 30th Oct and will be available from 4th Nov :D :D.

Great news, even though I will prob have to except bottom dollar for my car as a trade in. Unfortunately I'm away on business when it arrives so will not be able to take pics of it being loaded off the transporter. But as I have the first delivery scheduled for N Derbyshire I can live with that.

Having waited months for any firm news it is a little ironic that the delivery day is confirmed when it less than a week away.......but wait I don't care only 12 days to rotary bliss

You have done very well if you car was built in September and delievrd to the UK on the 11 of October. Can you find out the exact build date of your car?, mine was built on the 29 of Sept, and is not due to land with dealer until 05/12/03

No offense to you rich606, but it pisses me off that I am getting my car the same time as someone who ordered FIVE MONTHS after me! What a f*cking shower of clowns!

No offense taken. I'm sure that I would be a little upset.

My car was definitely built later than the 1st batch (according to Mazda) & I was told that I could expect delivery in December. So far they've been spot on

Spoke to my Dealer today to see if there was any advance on 9/11 and not surprisingly there isn't. I did ask him to contact Mazda as I was interested to know what the 9/11 meant.

Apparantly it means date to Dealer (approx) it's a Sunday and he's not open anyway but....................

Mazda cannot give us any firmer dates until the boat is 5 days from Rotterdam and apparantly "my boat" is more than 5 days away so no firm news yet. Lets hope it makes it soon otherwise the 9th November will be looking very dodgy for us REDS.

Maybe we should get out there and push:D

I'm just looking forward to my car now and the wait is getting more and more painful as the days tick by

Please HURRY UP and give us something more concrete so that we can organise our lives!

Cheers
