Aha! But further digging through the mail that piled up while I was away reveals the mythical delivery date letter. It wasn't in a Mazda envelope so I skipped past it. It says "December". So, perhaps in time for Xmas if I'm very lucky...

Hi,
Beaconsfield Mazda, expect delivery of my titanium hi power , no later than 20 days from the 16th November, when the boat from Japan is due to arrive at Rotterdam. Rotors on for mid December in Bucks?

 

Estimated date to dealer - October 22nd. He says he needs the space so will try to turn around in a couple of days.
May well get the car before the end of October, if this info is reliable! And happy to believe it for the time being.

Dealer in Leeds called me to say they are getting the car last week in October so I should be good to pick it up first week in November. I only put my deposit down in July so I'm not quite sure how I was allocated a car so early but not complaining

Although I must be thankfull for what Mazda has offered me untill now, I realy envy you (and all the others in the UK) for having your RX8 in sight.
I am still 'looking out for (my) number one' and I have to keep on doing that for another 2/3 months.

OK, not over the moon but not too pissed off either.

My car is due for release to dealer on the 16th of November. So I will get my car sometime between the 20th and 30th of November.

Dealer recons leather high power are first to arrive as he has four of these arriving in October (Rob, you lucky git ) then leather with sat. nav., then leather sunroof, then leather sunroof sat. nav. .

He didn't say anything about cloth.

And its one of four with a release date of the 26th?

 

That was me putting leather in, I just assumed they were all leather.:o

Yep, he said they had four cars coming in at the same time as yours.

If any of them is tit. grey, leather with sunroof, I want to know, because I won't be happy if they are, as I believe I was first to order with them.

I am going in to the dealer tomorrow so will try to get a look at the printout. Will give you an update tomorrow.h

I think a few of the January orderers might be a bit miffed, but I'm not going to get myself too worried over it for the sake of a couple of weeks

 

Out of interest what colour and options have you ordered?

 

I'm getting a black high power with leather. No sun roof or sat nav.

I registered myself on the mazda website on the first day of the preorder, but didn't actually pay my grand until July. The only thing I can assume is that certain colour/option/location combinations are being released first

 

First week in November for me from Leeds dealer. Velocity Red, leather seats, sunroof.

 

What Prism is saying seems to stack up.

My Dealer has a Black High power ordered in August and he will get his car last week of October. Ordered my Red High power in March although deposit placed January and my date is showing as 9th November.

There was a time when this would have upset me especially as I ordered the "Signature Colour" but, I'm sure Mazda UK have absolutely no control over this.

Looks like the colour you ordered makes a difference not the famous EP numbers. That's that old theory "out of the window" then. (The lower the EP number the earlier your car arrives)

Still, whats 2 weeks when you've been waiting 10 months?

Roll on 9th november then.

I think it is purely based on the cars build date and which car Mazda have chosen to allocate to you.

Went to my dealer today, I now have my VIN number :D. But more intrestingly I have got my build Date as well.
22nd of SEPTEMBER!!! (very late, that's only 4 weeks ago)

It must be fated that I have this car as the 22nd of September is my wedding anniversary. The other half is now convinced this is the car for me and is eagerly awaiting it's arrival as well.

Also got Mazda PCP finance figures today as well, Ouch! Won't be financing the car that way.

 

I popped upto Garneys and Hill in Bury this weekend.

My due date is 16th Nov but dealer thinks this is the Rotterdam date. He told me I should receive it in the first couple of weeks of December.

I nearly hit him, but instead I told him about some of the discontent and possible cancelations if this keeps going on.

However he was a good boy though as I got booked in for a test drive 30th Oct - WITHOUT the salesman.

Give you all a tip - Don't buy an ex demo red high power RX8 from Garneys and Hill as I'll "bed" it in first.

 

Second marriage, let's hope that's not too much fate, TG.

 

I contacted Mazda HQ today. They were unable to tell me any information about my car. They apologised again! Contrary to their last letter informing us that all dealers should have delivery information on their dealer database, they are now saying it should be done by the 24th November.

This has been the worst car buying experience I have ever been subjected to. Mazda sucks. Can,t wait for the JD Power survey to come out.

Spoke to my dealer. They said they had no firm dates and would contact me at the end of this month 31.10.2003

I was told about dealers getting the demonstrators on the 27th at Silverstone.

I live 7 miles from there and might pop up there with the digital camera if I can get off of work ............

I ordered Vel Red 6 speed 231ps - no extra's in the hope of getting mine first. ;-)

 

Just spoke to my dealer (JCT600 Leeds) and apparently my car is due at Rotterdam on 29th October, so i reckon mid November for me.

I can live with that :D

Hi nstokes. Fellow Northamptonian? What dealer did you go to? When did you order? And welcome to the forum.

My dealer has now shown me the system printout saying Oct 22nd - he reckons date to dealer but I am slightly sceptical...
If thats the case I could be in it at the weekend but I wont be betting on it yet.
