so i know this kind of goes away from the intended subject of this thread, but since S2 owners have no way of tuning their dwell settings, and since most of us have upgraded to a more reliable ignition, would the BAS be an alternative to ensure that the coils get enough charge?

if you are FI...you will have another system to run your ignition and fuel anyway..that will allow you to alter the dwell ( like the Adaptronic unit)

The best way? This is classic.
You have an OE dwell table driving a different coil at at under-dwell settings in the high rpm range and are adding voltage with a boost-a-spark. Simply put, you are guessing out your butt with a twist-a-**** and have no clue what the system is actually doing.
when you could have a set of D585 coils and have your programmer copy & paste known dwell settings into the AP map

the same thing applies that you'd still be guessing and under some conditions over-driving the coils would be as real a possibility as under-driving them
and post 229 was not there when I started typing my reply

There is no such thing as a "BHR coil". They are GM coils. There is a BHR ignition coil kit that uses these GM coils. As noted the original map used by MM and sanctioned by BHR at the time was off by several magnitudes. The map by Oltmann still does not use the full capability of the GM coils.

Just wanted to report, the new dwell settings seem awesome everything feels smoother, even shifting. odd
maybe its just a placebo effect, and as far as starting I had a really low battery this morning and it was cranking so slow but it still fired up!
Hands down way better then what MM provided.
