I dynoed with the DC5 today coz it is cheap. hehe

I have 125kW at the wheel, which is still way ahead than all DC5. Most people who have dynoed in the same set up have higher figure before.

This is the first shootout that I have done since the Unichip tuning... it is fun...in a way

125 divided by .746 equals 167.56.....C'mon Taka, I'm sure you could rig the dyno to pump that up a bit .

DC 5 is the current Integra Type R Hymee...

Gomez, do you know how hot it is today in the garage? They essentially blow hot air in to my engine! Hot air intake.

My friend's DC5 dynoed at 122 today which has 128kW before without much effort....?

I will get a 130kW one day??

The figure is not important... I just went there to have fun, burn petrol and have a beer with my mate in a hot summer day in front of TV, seeing Langer got out on 97

Gomez, Rainer did my car and when he finished tuning... I only have 120.8kW

I just don't know how to dyno my car... and please don't try to show me, as I try to "standarised" my dyno technique --- would it be wrong thinking????

Mate, 120.8 is okay. I had my EF XR8 dyno'd for free once by Rob Herrod at a club night. It pulled a massive 106kw.

Sounded good, but :D .

I did 300km this long weekend around Melbourne, with only 33L of Optimax....

so it is the first time I did 11L/100km around town!!!!

Magic: I just use 5th gear for 60kmh
6th gear 80km +

The car still pull at top gear up the hill

Yes I still accelrate faster than the car next to me at the lights

Completely non-automotive topic. We're currently exhibiting at an analytical chemistry exposition in Orlando Florida. A company selling voice recognition software is going absolutely gangbusters on one stand here. The program is called Dragon Naturally Speaking by ScanSoft (www.ScanSoft.com), and it is totally mindblowing. Not only can you dictate with phenomenal accuracy in Word, Outlook, etc, but you can also manipulate Corel, Excel etc. by word. My business partner writes our software, and he bought a copy. I attended the demo, and was absolutely stunned. Of course, I bought a copy too.

Hi Everyone

New to the site and this whole forum/message board caper so please excuse any lapses in proper form.

Have spent more time than is good for me reading various threads and the FAQ stuff and thought I'd hop in somewhere and see if my humble skills can manage.

BTW - Have owned my RX8 (6M L/P) for about 6 months now and still can't wipe the grin off.

Looking forward to learning from you all and contributing what I can.

Thanks Hymee.

Glad you responded because I've been reading quite a few things about the exhaust kit. Seems to me to be a sensible low risk mod.

Aside from some cosmetic items like fender strakes, fuel cap & door sill covers my car is a stock standard L/P and I'm interested in any relatively low cost mods that don't breach warranty.

I understand this is not the appropriate thread for this kind of stuff. Would be grateful if you could PM me with details as to availability, cost and who might be able to fit the kit on the north side of Sydney.

G'day Revolver

Welcome to the forum. I can vouch for Hymee's exhaust. It gives the car the sound it needs without being an earache on a long trip. Oh, and it cools the boot down heaps! Any good exhaust shop can fit it (but there have been some problems with removal of the stock exhaust, which is often overtightened -- one Sydney fitter made a real meal of it, I recall, so 'search' to avoid a repetition)

Yeah - "Playa78" had a bad experience in Sydney, someplace. I'm sure he can fill you in.

1. That is the main point of chosing an exhaust. It is easy to get a loud exhaust but hard to get a loud one only when you fang your car.

2. How does it cools the boot down?

Good design! Rather than a single large resonator sitting directly below the boot, the Hymee has two resonators -- one to each side. Result: no more melted tubs of ice cream

Thanks for the feedback and general welcome guys.

Have received a PM from Hymee and will definitely grab a kit as soon as finances allow (and I can sneak it past the Boss ).

As a first port of call I intend to see if the service guys at Brookvale Mazda want to do it. I have had a very positive experience there from sales onwards (which I'm happy to share if anyone's interested) and I have always believed that if the service dept fit these kind of mods any subsequent problems are much easier to deal with.
