Sorry... it was meant to be "uninitiated"... I would never make disparaging remarks about any person in this forum (pauses in alarm as nose grows to incredible length)

Any how i happen to be in a minority when it comes to flaming the RX8 and Mazda , so i am certain a would be buyer would not be concerned .

The good news is that i intend to be a RX8 owner ,forum member for a while yet .HA HA HA .

I Dont want to dissapoint you guys .HE HE HE

Picked up my RX8 on friday - what a sweet ride!! Anyway, while there, I spoke with the dealer and they have had to do one 'deflood' in Auckland. They have sold quite a few RX8s. The flash updates in NZ only apply to the auto (according to the dealer). Not sure about Aussie, but in NZ we get 24/7 assistance included with every Mazda for 3 years. If they car stops more than 100km away from home - they provide a free rental car. Check it out http://www.mazda.co.nz/service/call.aspx

Damn, so not only are AU RX-8 more expensive (than almost anywhere else not just NZ) but we get stiffed on the Mazda Assist.

Anyone from Mazda Australia listening? It wouldn't hurt you to use a little of those record profits and sales towards keeping your customers a little bit happier. Would it?

The ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE CONVERTIBLE TYPE R hopefully will be in line for purchasing around 2010 , this gives me time to condition the WIFE into the $200.000 + car type bracket .

Meanwhile the Yellow RX8 Manual leather pack will have to do , i promised the wife that the next car would be a convertable and one that she can drive .

The porsche boxster will be available in a six-speed Tiptronic , and also with a double clutch transmission so hopefully this should fill in the gap .,before the ASTON .

Most likely i will keep the RX8 for my eldest son or turn it into a weekend track car .

Cheers

say that again when you're 70 and the words HA HA HA are hard to mouth, then I'll be saying HA HA HA and show me the money so I can fix your teeth and buy a Porsche turbo.

Next month I've got 3 neglect cases whihc I'm rebuilding at a cost of $20K + each.

My turn to say HA HA HA because their residual value will now be in my pocket!

A friend got $15,000 dollars worth of dental work done in the phillipines for $5000 , and his had a 4 week vacation as well , with all the exotic pleasures that the local girls can provide .

So if and when my teeth fall out it will be a great excuse to go overseas .

cheers

sorry mate but I've seen those cases before. A $5K job in the philipines will cost about $30K when it goes **** up. Michael, as you'd know full well, pay peanuts get monkeys!

I love those medical holidays, gives me more work end of the day!

In order to get back on Topic before some **** member yells Lounge .

I know that car manufacturers often experiment with newly released vehicles by giving varied types of ECU programs to different cars in order to monitor the real world situations .???

Is it possible that the cars that are flooding easier have a slightly different setting in the ECU , or are the injectors set at differing cycles .???

cheers

Evidence? In practice, I don't think car mfrs are able to track where their cars are distributed sufficiently for this type of experimentation. More likely is a scenario where revisions are made to later manufacturing batches based on experience with earlier releases -- as we are certainly seeing with Mazda and, I suspect, most other mfrs
