Rock Band Party...last set

..and that was our evening. Followed it up with the final autocross event in which Casey and I competed in our final event with the RX8. Loren was there to take some pics...maybe he'll post up a couple to finalize a great weekend.

Started off with a snowy cruise...then a Rock Band Party...and capped off with an Autocross.

Don't know how we'll top that in January.....

I don't get it - why do MEN (yes i emphasize that word) always think of the XB as a family car? really? really? Ok I know its a four door car and all but just cause its a box doesn't mean it has room. And yeah yeah - I know that the new and improved XB has - wait for it - FOUR INCHES more of trunk space! But four more inches than the previous four inches only makes 8 inches of trunk space. Has a man ever really been back there and said - how am I going to get a stroller and a pack and play back here? and you don't want those things standing up only to smack the back seat whenever you stop to soon waking up the baby that just FINALLY stopped screaming and went to sleep. Believe it or not - a Jetta has more room than an XB. Thats right folks - I said JETTA

Ok - off my Didn't mean to pick on you Jorge - I have had several men at work say the same EXACT thing and my seeming ignorance was beginning to frustrate me. I'll go have a beer now!

^^^ yup.. its actually a pain in the *** to find a decently priced vehicle that will fit a stroller in the trunk, and a car seat in the back seat (comfortably, not cramped in there)...... when amber had her lancer, the car seat hit the seats, even if we were pulled as far up as we deemed "manageable"... so we traded it in and got the galant..... very wise choice! plently of room, not very expensive, and a nice little car! if your around a mitsu dealership again, try looking at the galants..... as for the new lancer, im not sure how roomy those are as ive never been in one....

just my thoughts but a family car is something with room usually it has 4 doors and it can be a car truck suv what ever, but typically not a compact car.(?)

Mitsu is loosing money. Too bad they got rid of the Diamonte.

The Galant with the V6 has plenty of power. Pretty good room.

Is it not comparavle to the Maxda 6?

I'm interested in the Impala/Malibu or Buick Lucerene.

Those are really ice family cars. Plenty of room.

Main thing is you can get them real cheap if they are 2 or 3 yrs old.

Buick has always been reliable. Seems Chevy may be on the band wagon too!

Need to carry the new Wide screen TV? How about the Christmas tree?

Trunk and door openings are plenty big to accomadate.

And they ain't huge like the Cadallics.

@Jesse - we have test driven a lot of cars lately and the new lancer has A LOT more room than the old one. It actually is the same size as the galant only a tad bit skinnier. Obviously there are other differences but size-wise thats the only one (according to the dealer specs anyway) I also liked the opening to the trunk better on the lancer - nice and wide and low and square - easier to slide big bulky items into

@Loren - I don't think a family car has to be any type of car, just one that would comfortably fit a car seat and enough storage for strollers and crap. I have seen some SUVs with hardly any usable storage versus my mom's Taurus in which we can easily fit a wheelchair, ice chest, and a couple boxes in the trunk. I hate to burst your bubble - but a protege with a hatch is still a compact car

I would never get rid of an S10 pick up for a Blazer.

Your going backwards in every way. Especially gas milage. Just my opinion.

Actually - gas mileage on the S-10 is WORSE than the blazer. My S-10 is a V-6 (not a four-banger) with a lift and 31" tires which helps eat up fuel efficiency. Also it only seats 2 people. In all honesty we use it most of time as an extra vehicle and not a truck. When we figured out how often we needed it as a truck is was a lot less than we thought. Most of the time it is OTHER people using the truck - not us. And a lot of the time we use it because we don't want to get the eight dirty or mess with teeny trunk of the eight - like if I have to take a box of papers to work. The blazer has plenty of room for that type of thing. Plus - you can rent trucks from home depot now. For as much as we would use it thats a much cheaper option than buying another car so we can keep the truck. Plus the benefit of my being able to stay home with babies more than accounts for the inconvenience of no longer having a truck.

(p.s. watch out - I teach middle school - i can argue stupid points all day long! )

Yeah, guess I just can't help it. Every time I see an ice cream truck (Xb) I think of kids.

Erica..... a good suv is the way to go. Better then a car. There are a few reasons but #1 reason is .....open the back and you have an easy place to change a diaper. Not so easy to do on a seat in a car.

If you want more reasons on pros and cons.....just ask.

hmm... busy working at work & at home... finally got my studio all moved, reconnected, and setup- but am uber pissed because the tape-in jacks on my mackie vlz-pro-1604 are shorting in and out. this is the 5th time this f'g pos has broken on me. (made by fine, lazy amercian shitmanship. my almost 20 year old tascam (japanese made) has never broken even once. go figure.) anyhow- got the living room curtains ordered from pottery barn, and am just beginning the awful task of sorting through endless boxes of crap. <lol> finally moved the 8 back into the garage tho, as my sis took the acura TL to help us sell it. my boss just picked up a 335i coupe!! (am waiting for lunch to go for a ride.)

i have to work this year thru the holidays to cover for my co-worker who's going home back east. but, i can use the OT tho to help pay for all the expenses lately. what's everyone else up to?

Weird thing happened this morning. Driving to work and I saw a silver RX8 and I started to have that feeling....oh, I wish I still had my 8. The car pulled up behind me and flashed his lights....it was then that I realized I was driving my 8 this morning. Weird......guess it is a sign that I'm ready to let it go.
