Weird thing happened this morning. Driving to work and I saw a silver RX8 and I started to have that feeling....oh, I wish I still had my 8. The car pulled up behind me and flashed his lights....it was then that I realized I was driving my 8 this morning. Weird......guess it is a sign that I'm ready to let it go.

ahh, that sucks...I just typed a long response to let you guys know the status on the car situation, but pressed preview rather than post.....and now, it is gone.
well, (as Cesar enjoys) to make a long story short....
S10 truck was posted on Autotrader Saturday night and had a person come look yesterday who has expressed intent to come with money today after work.
RX Z88M, buyer is coming to look/buy after work on Tuesday.
As of Wednesday, it may be that Erica and I are down to one car. We may even have to carpool on Wednesday (my last day of work before the winter break).
S10 is being sold because my mom has a Blazer of the same model year '99 that she wants to sell. I figure it is an upgrade as we need something family sized. This would also leave me open to getting a commuter only car like a Honda Fit or cheap equivalent. A prius would be nice...but they've marked those things up so high, they are above the 20 grand limit I want to keep under.
The Lancer is a good option, due to the price, the size, the styling...as well as a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty.
I could always look at a BU....I don't know the pricing on those. Smaller commuter option would be the Cobalt I believe? Honda Civic (which I've already owned one)...maybe an option...or the Sentra, which we've looked at already when we test drove the Altima.
Buick is a retired person's car...I don't care what they've tried to do recently by having Tiger Woods be the spokesperson...it will always be an older person's car to me...and I have never liked anything that Pontiac or Jeep has put out other than the Solstice.
thats the short version.

what about a mazda 3? 4 dr or 5 dr. oh and dont forget the prius gets a tax break as well , if that would help you out? and it may cost more but it saves you a lot in gas, weight it out over a years payement and a years gas?
Ok, to be totally off topic

have you test driven any? which do you like the best from a looks point of view?
i have been a 3-5 dr and it was nice but i havent driven any others. I am not a fan of a fit. but of coruse dont let that stop you...what about he pricing on a lancer? (you know you would rather do research on this stuff then work
)

Sorry, you all know my theory ;
The RX8 IS the 4 door family car. It was even within the price range being discussed here. I will find a way to make it work. It is decently safe, has 4 doors, a back seat big enough for kids, And a trunk.
