i talked to my brother-in-law, and i guess they want to go to mt. high, because they don't want to take too long getting in/ out- since my mom's going to be baby-sitting nathanael for them while we go.

oh well, the snow at mt. high sucks. but, it's better than nothing. since i'm going with them, i probably won't be able to play rock band. but, will try to find time to do that next time.

i think what i'll do is have them pass by fontana and see if i can stop by keith's on the way back- probably around 3 or 4pm ish? let me know if that is ok. i will, of course, call ahead of time- just to make sure. if not, then it's ok- i can just pick it up at the march meet.

True, but would you be willing to agree that it is no longer 2007?

This is Saturday, right?

If we aren't home when your swinging by, I will make sure to leave a copy of the calendar in a plastic bag on the front door mat. Go ahead and pick it up and just mail Loren a check. If I am home, I'll be glad to accept the check/cash for Loren.

Enjoy your day in the snow.

I may need to have my calender mailed, or just wait till next month

And I am gonna have to agree with the folks saying it is no longer 2007.

And Jordan - Welcome back!!! My neighbor must have been on the same schedule as you. He is home now too.

it would probably cost 6-8 bucks to ship the calendar? So, mail me or Loren a check for 26+8 and we'll get it out to you. pm me or Loren if you want to go that route.

I'm assuming since you're going snowboarding at Mt. High, you're going to Mt. High West.
I use to go snowboarding about once a week back in the day.
We usually went to Mt. High because the snowboard park was better and the drive is ridiculously easy.
Anyways, don't know if you know the shortcut, but it saves even more time getting to the slopes.

Basically, instead of taking 138 to 2, you take Lone Pine Canyon Rd.
Cuts a bunch of time off your drive, and you don't have to worry about getting stuck behind a big truck or bus.
The road is perfectly paved, so don't worry about going on some dangerous back road.

As a comparison, here's the regular route most people take.

Again, Lone Pine is great, because GPS and map programs don't route people on it.
It's probably safer than 138 and 2, since there's less traffic.

hiya

Hey thanks everyone for the WB, yeah its great to be home, dont have to worry about getting killed by an IED or shot anymore/ I got injured out there so I was sent home early. I was not supposed to come home until April. But dont worry I am fine now.

As for the R8 I am not getting it, I talked to a guy that ownes one and he said its really not worth the money he spent for it. He is not satisfied and now has to pay for a car that he is no longer happy with. So I got other plans now.

So when is the next meet? I am looking forward to driving and seeing everyone again.

Here's another post to help put this thread to rest, in preparations for the 2008 version. This is post 6667.

Old Thread actually had 10,017 replies before it was closed. I had 1718 posts in that thread, accounting for 17% of the post count.

New Thread current has 6667 posts. This is my 744th post, accounting for only 11%.....I let you guys down....sorry.

I know this is worth nothing to most of you....but I thought I lost my Ipod.....actually haven't been able to find it for two months. Figured it was stolen, or just in some stupid spot I just hadn't thought of yet.

Well, found it, it was in the bottom of the camera bag. Why it was in there, who knows...but who cares. I found it. Little things, sometimes, make me happy.

Car is gonna be sold on Friday....this is not going to make me happy.

okie dokie, so here’s the scoop.

first I started the car to move it to the center of the garage, it ran like complete ***.

I put the RX-7 afm on, and it ran like ***.

I adjusted the spring in the afm to be less stiff, making the car think it has more air then it really does... it ran worse. (go figure?)

so I adjusted it the other way, I made the spring stiffer, and it runs a lot better.

I took it around the street to see how it does, and it does run better, but only a little. it still lacks major power, and craps out at fairly high RPM.

so I bring it back and take the intake all apart to look at the throttle body adapter. (remember the mechanic said it was leaking here as well as the intake boot right at the tb inlet.) well I found one minor leak, I am not sure I would consider it big, but I went ahead and resealed it up and laid a little excess sealant on the out side.

as that was drying I focused on the inlet of the throttle body. now here is the problem. with the longer engine the stock intake does not fit right, it hits the radiator neck. long story short, I took the fan out to give clearance for the intake tube to fit correctly on the throttle body... blah blah blah, as far as I can tell the intake is snug and SHOULD be leak free. (btw, I can see how there was a pretty big leak at the inlet of the tb)

so I start the car and it runs pretty well. I didn’t run it more then you see in the video (ok other then 5 minutes or so to warm it up at idle) nor did I take it our for a spin. but as you can tell in the video the first time I rev it up it does "float" around 5k and I let off at 6, it just seemed like it had a hard time above 5k.

the second rev up was much smoother and went till I let off. Now from my experience in the past how it runs in the driveway and how it runs when I put it under a load are two different things. I did not take it around the block as it is 8:30 here and the car is loud. so again I do not know how it drives just yet, but being as it floated around 5k I would assume it will NOT be perfect. but I sure do have progress.

now I am hoping that I have solved the intake leaks, and now I need to re adjust the afm. HOPEFULLY this really makes it come alive. oh yeah, also I must add that I went ahead and cleaned the spark plugs (yeah, 3rd set) so that they were at least not freakin black...

tomorrow is V day, so I suspect I will not work on it, though I do plan to come home and at least drive around the block and move it back to its spot in the garage. so maybe tomorrow I will know if it is at least running better with more power.

here is the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQV0vfVz4gA and feel free to check out my other videos while your at it.
