Thought I would forward an interesting email I received from a "prosective buyer" from my Autotrader add (which is still active till the end of the month)....guys claims that my car is only worth 12k through kbb and that is what he would offer.
I wanted to say something strong, but instead just simply replied...."well, find another car then".
Can you imagine...12k, REALLY? That is a fricken insult....but then again, it came from a kid (I would have to guess given that the screen name was chronicwonder.....or something like that).
12k.....wow, big laugh for the day...and I needed a laugh.

Probably was looking at base model without any additional options - like upgraded 19" wheels
I also noticed when I was looking Z88M up on KBB that even though i put your package in I STILL had to add features that were included - like upgraded leather, navigation, Traction Control, side curtain airbags, and sun/moon roof
the wouldn't know to add that crap so he was probably looking a quote for more of a Snowfl8k than an RXZ88M

So just got a call from the shop that was racing stephs car. They are going to pay for half of everything.
So the new clutch is $710 on the cheap. That is parts and labor.
Looks like they are gonna hand her back a little over $355 to help with everything.

not saying that the kid that emailed u is a fake. but, i have noticed that from my own experience that not everyone who sends inquiries from autotrader or recycler are actual private buyers. actually a lot are used car dealers disguising themselves as buyers. they are trying to sleeze bucket their way into stealing your car so they can resell it for a nice profit.

hawaii? sounds great. after i get layed off in august, i'll get half a year's pay free and clear- in theory. if i don't have job by then, i'd go on vacation.
