That's an old pc. If you're using it just for online stuff (paying bills, surfing the
net, email) you should reformat it and load Ubuntu instead of windows.
Ubuntu is pretty stable, and much better at managing resources.
In other words, it will run faster and more efficiently.
Give me a list of things you use that pc for, and programs you generally use, and I'll tell you if Ubuntu would work.
Functionally, it will feel like a brand new pc compared to what it is now.


@Speed -
That's gross, and looks terribly painful.
I've dropped stuff on my toes, and kicked stuff while barefoot, but I've never had a bruise. OUCH!


@Everyone else -
Let's post so we get to the next page, and I don't have to see Speed's toes anymore.

They need word and excel perferably the same that cindy / mirna use at school / work. the question is what makes it different? i noticed that as i was reinstalling programs after i finsih all the service pack updates is when the computer got really slow.

Spyware for sure. Just hover over some of the advertisements and its a link to doubleclick.net. Not exactly the most conspicuous.

MR2 guy came over to buy some parts, and he pulls up in serial #0002 (Jay Leno has #1)

What a car!!!!!
Ecotec supercharged motor (sound familiar Casey?)
