Once a month meeting near San Bernardino
I may just go to beryl park so I can sleep in a few extra minutes.
I am just in for the drive and to get a picture of a bunch of RX's together. But I am definately looking forward to this run. I have never been up this particular hill. I am a cruiser, so I will be in back with the other snails.

The 15 mess is only if you're coming from Victorville on the 15 south through the Cajon Pass.
The 15 closure won't affect you at all from Elsinore.

Jedi - Could you use your powers to find the closure section in Caltrans or somewhere like you did w/ the 15Fwy?
It would suck if they decide to close GMR this weekend because of the long weekend and expected increase in traffic.
Especially if everyone drives all the way out there.

took some pics while i was up there today. this is where baldy ends.. and GMR starts.
taking baldy at 100 was pretty easy. 80-100 in the turns wasnt too bad either. when i was at the top of GMR, i saw 2 s2000s going at it comming from azusa. they stayed in their lanes so i feel a little better about this weekend.
i know kill storries are not allowed in this forum so ill just say for a guy with a broken front shock, im pretty happy with my car

we'll be getting a breakfast location up soon...just have to figure out what is over that way. Maybe we could meet for breakfast around 9:00 or so, and then head over to Beryl to meet with the east IE folks coming from Pirate.
Cesar, and ideas of where to go. Loren, Ghost, this is your neck of the woods...any suggestions (Cesar, Erica and I usually hit up the Farmer Boys off the 10 at Cherry...but this would be out of the way this month). Any Farmer Boys over that way...other than the one on Foothill and the 15 (this may be a good spot to meet though).

This pic is cool!

whats the differance between GMR and GRR???
(glendora mountain road, Glendora ridge road)

I don't visit Glendora very often, but my favorite part is the south side of GMR, the section just north-east of Glendora. There are some very drastic elevation changes and tight, well-banked corners. It's been closed the past few times I visited there, right at the junction of GMR and Glendora Ridge road (there's a gate at the top of a hill, and another gate at the bottom of GMR by the city, about one mile north of the intersection of E Sierra Madre Ave and Glendora Mountain Road).
There's a review, with maps and aerial photos here:
http://www.lateralg.org/foothills.htm
Note that LATERALG has reviewed some other local roads as well:
http://www.lateralg.org/sanber.htm << 18 / 330 / 38
http://www.lateralg.org/sanber.htm << 74 / 243
Glendora Ridge Road is narrower than GMR, and there is no center stripe on the road: it's just a big black piece of pavement. It takes you to Mt. Baldy. Glendora Ridge is less traveled, so there's more debris. GMR is a much safer road: it's wider and has the stripe down it. Both roads have sections with blind turns and missing or minimal guardrail, but you should be driving safe regardless of what's on the other side of the pavement.

hey thats cool, they have our 330, 18, 38, and part of the 138 on there! sweet!
I wonder if they have the Idlewile one on there.

speaddemon, they do. It is in riverside county called the 243. Also the 74 is the palms to pines hwy. Another great one. If anyone ever wants to get a GREAT video of their car, the last stretch that goes down the hill in to palm springs has several awsome perches to shoot from. And it gives you a view of about 3 miles of road to watch for oncoming traffic
I'll come but GMR is too dangerous to drive.
At the time we expect to run:
a) Could be someone from opposite way
b) a slow moving vechile at 10-15 mph around a blind corner. And almost all the corners are blind.
c) damn bycylist
d) there is NO room to move on that road
E) I have maxed out at 68mph on several of those turns, but won't do this in with a group of 8's at late morning
I will be at the end of the pack because I prefer to drive very slow on that road.
I save the speed for my motorcycle during late evening or early morning on GMR.
I consider GMR to be the road between Mt. Baldy and Azuza.
If were going that far I will probably hang a right and go through Azuza canyon and then stop at the small cafe.
I hope not to see a wreck when driving 10 mph around a blind curve.
I will attend your funeral, after I quickly go down the ravine and rape your car from all the mods.
What time do you expect to be at the forest station? 10AM?

I would anticipate people arriving at Beryl Park around 10:00...given that I have never been up that way, other than the one time I followed KrazieKave and Lesper up to Baldy...so i don't know where the Ranger station is....
I will be near the middle of the pack...I do not want to go fast either.
