Once a month meeting near San Bernardino
Dunno why it happened this time around, but the nose of my 8 took some serious pebble damage from the cruise. What's weird tho, is that the roads seemed smooth, and I barely heard anything. (Malibu is usually a lot rougher.)
Anyways, after I washed the car Saturday evening, I noticed about half a dozen or so small paint chips scattered around the front just above the grill- in the appearance of gray dots... In most cases, the paint is completely chipped off to the metal and fairly visible. <sob> I tried some touch-up paint, but that just made it look worse I think... <lol> <sigh>
Oh well, i'm going to look for a good body shop and pay out-of-pocket to have them do a one-time clean-up of all the chips, nicks, and scratches. i seem to recall that a good friend of mine had this done on his lexus sc onec-upon-a-time and seemed to have had great results. it'll be expensive, but should be worth the $ to have it done right. (if i do anymore w/ that touch up paint it'll be a crime of mutilation...lol) i've also decided that i'm going to go buy the mazda rx-8 a car bra- just for use when we go cruisin'
Hopefully, I'm the only one this happened to...

thanks jorge... yah, i've read a lot here on clear bras. but, when i think about it, i've never really had a problem w/ rocks in the city and on the highway- only on our canyon cruises, it seems. <lol> but, economically the clear bra doesn't make sense to me. it costs almost $500 installed, and even when it does its job and absorbs the rocks- poof- u have spend another $500 to get a new one. the regular bra, on the other hand, is only $125, and i don't mind just putting it on for our cruises. and, if it gets thrashed by rocks- it's cheap enough to throw away and just get another one.

My next mod...
After I saw this "Blower Mod", I was inspired.
I think I'll try this on my car.
I saw this guy driving home from work last week.
@ Casey, can I get your help on this install once I buy it?

Cesar, if you buy that I WILL help you put it on...
then I will Kick your ***, and set your car on fire.
Because I would hate for someone to mistake that for my car.

Thanks! My first time at this meet and the run was pretty fun. Had a hard time keeping up cuz i didnt want to go full speed without knowing the road and turns... Sorry i couldnt make the autocross though, had to make it home for a grad party... Anyway, nice meeting you guys... Aha, Razz is pretty aggressive on the road. I met him at the Tustin meet i think and i couldnt picture him being that kind of driver. Props though on Razz and kwescott on leaving us in their dust. Aha

Heh, the kit for the rear and sides are mint blue. I got the lights done at the same place i got my tint. They used a spray and did it as dark as my tint. I'm down for another meet. Let me throw some other ideas out there... Bowling? Poker? Morongo? Movies always nice.

we are thinking about doing a F&F meet at the driv in (riverside).
we think it might be kinda cool to all pull up in a bunch of 8's and park next to each other.......
