Ok. I noticed that it has a coolant leak as soon as it got on the flatbed.

take the airbox and snorkel off the throttle body and dry them out, any water that made it past that point would have already gotten to the engine and done any possible damage. put everything back in place before attempting to start it, the MAF is necessary for it to run. cranking it with the plugs out for about 30 seconds is also a good idea before attempting to start the engine(disconnect the EPS sensor before doing so and reconnect it before trying to start).

avoid letting it sit for a prolonged period of time otherwise it may begin to rust and stick the engine internals(3-4 days at most with straight water in the engine).

Thanks guys for the info. I just got a call back from my insurance and they gave me the bad news. They basically said the car is a total loss. Mazda said they can repair for 5500 (replacing the engine). I'm thinking of buying the car back and then just getting it repaired with the money i get from progressive. Also, its going to be a salvage title which i really dont care about since im not planning on selling it at all, but with that title, I wont be able drive it until it gets inspected by DMV or something.

why am i not surprised that the dealer called it a total loss, i've also heard of $2000 bills to deflood an engine.

You are probably much better off taking the money from your insurance and just buying another rx8. Right now you may not plan on selling it but eventually you might and you wont get much out of it with a salvage title.

How much did your insurance offer for the car? Never take their first offer, and read this https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discuss...-claim-218419/ to get a better idea on how to get more money.

You cannot use someone elses cobb on your car, it is married to the car it is used on already. What codes do you have? If you had your engine replaced with a reman at the dealer and have codes then return to the dealer and have them fix it.

Surprisingly I have the alignment tool but not a pilot bearing tool. I will not be home this weekend but you are welcome to use it. Just call me.

I have a stock set of s2 ignition coils(said to be more reliable and longer lasting than s1) with 25-30k miles on them if that is what you need. I was having no issues with them but just changed them to make myself feel better I guess. You can just have them if they will help you out.

Sorry to hear A Mair... hopefully the car can be fixed for a reasonable cost. If know people will be interested in parts for sure but let's hope it doesn't come to that.

Dude you were also the guy that got those spacers from eBay right? Sorry I don't remember... I don't come around a lot. If this is the right guy, you offered me to try your spacers out to see if they helped my fitment. That offer still good?
