Being the resort town that it is, I think a lot of guys work the weekend. Saturday is OK for me. If you include all Mazdas, how many can they accomitate? I don't remember a lot of space for parking at that location. I would have thought that they would have been trying to get this to happen at the new Mazda dealer on west Sahara.

Kevin - I had eyeballed the magnaflow previously, hard to beat at the price point. I guess worst case scenario you fry it and gut it (swap in stock cat for emission?)

Ok las vegas peeps. I am happy and sad to say that in the next week my family and I will be leaving vegas. I got transfered back to orlando fl. That said I have a few tools and tool boxes I wont be able to take with me so im selling it all for about 300 if anyone is interested. i know its not a lot but still, they made good for me to take care of the simple-ish things i do...

Yea that's what I was thinking. TurboXS has a high-flow cat and resonator unit that's looking pretty nice for the price, so I'm probably gonna do that along with a cat-back exhaust mounted up to it. I'm ordering this weekend, I'll put up progress via posts.

Hey Vegas peeps, Sin City Rotary is meeting up at Applebee's tonight for anybody that would like to come by. We have at least twelve people confirmed, and Anthony Dejesus is moving to Florida after the weekend so it's a meetup and send-off all in one. Everybody's invited. The address is -

4605 West Charleston Boulevard
Las Vegas, NV 89102

Hope to see you there!

As long as you do not drive the car very hard any of those will work. People have toasted a cat in less than one autox event before but there is one single magnaflow that someone on the foruyms really recommends but I just cant remember the exact model. You could probably find his posts if you do a search for magnaflow cat. Anything other than that one will possibly give you problems unless you step up to the $600(maybe a bit less?) HJS cats that some seem to love.

I'll save you the trouble, I did the legwork for that. haha.

"I've said it other places, but my 3" inlet/outlet $100 Magnaflow #59959 metallic-substrate cat has lasted 20,000 miles of hard driving so far. No CEL and no stink, but I have no idea if it will pass a sniffer test, or if it's legal anywhere in the EU. They offer similar models with the smaller pipe size as well."

I ended up buying the Turbo xs cat + resonator, and the Fujitsubo Legalis R Catback. Everything looks like it'll connect with no modifications, I hope that's the case. Then I can returned the borrowed cat I have on to its rightful owner. This site's been such a great help, not only with getting help with my car but meeting up with groups like SCR and making friends in a new city. Hopefully these friends will lend me a hand installing the catback when it comes in tomorrow!

I put my 8 under one of those folding tents. On the package it said "Do not use to cover vehicles"........that means they know exactly why people are buying them.

i've had 3 8's in the past few weeks with no undertrays, 1 overheating and 1 already with blown coolant seals.

be sure you are getting those undertrays put back on if the car is being serviced, they do serve a purpose.

Does anyone here work at a t-mobile store? I went to get service there yesterday and there was a nice blue rx8 parked outside for a while but I forgot to ask who owned it.

craigslist or ebay.

all my junk cores get turned in for reman units so no luck here(regardless of the naysayers who say remans are crap, price out 2 brand new housings which all remans come with. rebuilders can't compete.).

you could also try the 2 mazda dealers and ask if they have any unreturned cores that are going to be scrapped.

Hey guys, so today it rained really hard around 7pm... Unlucky me, my baby sucked water in on the way home. So the 8 died right in the middle of the intersection of las vegas blvd. fashion show mall and wynn. Anyway was sitting there dead in the water literally for about 1-2 hrs maybe waiting on a tow truck... Truck came and told me it was 195$ for 10miles then 7.75 per mile after. So we called Our roadside assistance and got a different tow truck (by this time the 8 had been pushed to the side of the road beside the fashion show mall). While we were waiting, there was this white 8 that decide to park in front of my 8 and asked if I needed help. Anyway, i just wanted to say thanks to that guy for stopping and try to help. I forgot to get your name but thanks again. Now, does anybody know how i can get rid of the water in the engine( im hoping theres none)?

How deep was the water you went in? As I understand it for anything to really happen you would have to completely submerge the whole filter, do you have a cold air intake? How high was the water you were driving in? I know near the strip it floods like crazy when it rains.

Have you tried to start it again recently? If it is a manual you could just try push starting it if it wont start any other way.

Hopefully it is just a simple problem and not a much bigger problem like cracking something from a ton of cold water splashing your hot engine.
