I imagine the part will take a up to a week. I sent Ray/Charles a message about the replacement part I found but haven't heard back. I will order it after I have heard from him.

Well I am a little confused myself........
Catalan will be at my garage at or close to 10am.
Ray will not be there cuz he has his own cars to get running
Chun will not be there due to prior commitments
Little Phil may be moving this weekend so we may not see him.
AJ may be at my garage(I have not heard from him so I would not count on it)

Chris, I will have the tool and the cotton *****. It is not that hard to do just a little hard to get to so if all fails we will do it together.

The monthly combined meet is scheduled for July 16th at In & Out on west Sahara, 8:00pm. I am accepting suggestions for a "Cruze to spot". Please PM me and let me keep the drive to location a last minute announcement.

Sorry I won't know if I can make it until tomorrow morning. I don't mean to be a flake but something a little more pressing came up.

After talking with CHR, it looks like I need to find a pretty expensive OEM piece to get my CEL turned off. Sucks. Phil I will check with mazmart but if you maybe know of another source where I might be able to find an affordable front O2 sensor I would appreciate it.

Chun more expensive? actual oe or would the Bosch take care of you issue?

Not sure if CHR would concur, my concern would be a faulty O2 sensor may create an unhealthy situation on the convertor potentially compounding the situation if not adressed in a timely manner

According to CHR the bosch one is kind of a do it yourself rig that still needs to be manipulated. Not the full thing that I would need. My gas mileage isn't in the ******* or anything like that so I could just leave it. But I really don't want to do anything to my car with that on.

By the way, the OEM part you priced out was $240 plus $200 in taxes? I'm confused...

I'm a poor person to ask about pricing.....If I want it I get it and don't worry about the price. I usually give Ray the first shot and if he knows of a cheaper place to get it he tells me as I am sure he would anyone asking him. I would assume that the one's on E-Bay are the Bosh version?

lol no was like 440 "list" price then like 239 yours plus uncle sam, lol I didn't figure out the tax I'd let you do that. Also the one I qouted should be a direct fit not a "universal" which is what I was trying to get you to shy away from, maybe your talking to too many Rays LMAO

I sure thought that I could explain it to Chris. Obviously I was not able to make it clear.....We'll have to get one of the guys that have done it to help. I can't get up and down easy enough to get under there.

Woo Hoo CEL is gone! Replaced the front O2 sensor, which was a bitch BTW. But all better now. Anyone doing work on a transmission in the future make sure you don't snag this tiny ******* wire because it is a $250 sensor to replace. List price for the part is $440 OEM. Be very careful with with that damn wire harness.

Now that the CEL is gone though I am good to add the cold air I guess... Sweet!

The Bosch sensor listed in the link I was shown was a universal 4-wire O2 sensor and it was stated to include several different connectors for compatibility with different vehicles. The two MOST important sensors on the RX-8 are the MAF sensor and the front O2 sensor so I don't like going cheap with either one of them.

As for the cause and solution of Chen's problem; I enjoy being right, especially when it is for the right reason, but not the idea that a brother hadda spend a couple hundy to fix it. Glad to have been of help, though.

CRH, I sourced the O2 Sensor, it was a direct fit aka Apllication Specific. I am not a fan of the universal type as I have witnessed too many headaches with them. I am sure a tech may be able to get them to work ,but I am a firm believer in do it once do it right

Thanks to CHR Ray for the distant diagnosis and a special thanks to Ray/13X for helping me with the shitty job of switching the damn sensor as well for the initial diagnosis. If people are interested we can write a written DIY as it seems none exists. Changing that thing sucks the first time but it can certainly help others to know where to look for crap.

Side note, I can't get my TPMS to shut off even though I have four working sensors and my tires are fully inflated. Can I by pass that with an AP or something?
