When? I don't see that adding a dual res would make it better or worse, just quieter esp. in the cabin. I do like the sound of my DR midpipe though. Deep throaty on the outside very quiet on the inside.

^i agree but i figure since i have a few more days of warranty ill try and take advantage of it. i just got a call from them anyway saying that the rotary isnt putting out a good amount of compression so i guess im getting a new engine.

Some guy bought the exhaust but not the race pipe so if anyone wants it, 100 and its yours.

 

Still gotta take the 8 in for the CEL light that came on... really need a rental/loaner though... dag nabbitt!

So I came out of the M casino after cashing in on Cyborg's kill of Gina Carano and two ol dudes were standing outside my car talking excitedly about the mods he made on his 8. He said he had CAI, Catback exhaust and Coilovers. I asked him what brand? "Zoom-Zoom" he says. I said MazdaSpeed? he said yeah. Says he bought it brand new in 04 and now has og 168K miles on it. Also he can take turns at 68mph with the coilovers, it used to be 53mph. Says with the Mazdaspeed exhaust it sounds like nothing else out there. I says he doesn't really have an 8. I'll be at the Rhino for a bachelor party if anyone's looking for me.

 

Dunno what it could be for... i don't have a pipe installed to cause a CEL.. my miles are about 41k i thinks...

 

Just reset the dam cel and see if it comes back. Could have been a misfire - happens all the time.

 

Should of asked him how many times he's had to get a rebuild... that's a lot of miles, hard to emagine the apex seals havent gone atleast once....

 

it is hard to emagine them lasting that long but no unheard of. im still beat. must sleep

You sure your BF isn't writing this stuff for you? That would've been a good question. Anyhow, apex seals aren't the culprit on the renny engine, it's the new side ports and side seals getting carb build up from what I have been told and read. I use seafoam to clean out the carb deposits, did it last weekend and got about 20 minutes of thick nasty smoke.
Man but you got it right before the warranty expired. At least you will be the one that owns it from the get go. The previous owner probably grannied it which killed it. Mabuhay new renesis!...

I feel that if we have a scheduled meeting time and day we could get a turn out. As of July 2009 we will have a (one) scheduled meeting on the third Friday of every month. The scheduled meeting will take place every month and we will meet at the In & Out parking lot on West Sahara and will start at 7pm. Some months there will / may be trips to various locations or to get food.

I know that some of you work strange hours and accommodations to the side trips can be made for you.
