Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to,
doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

Ralph and Edna were both patients in a mental hospital.
One day while they were walking past the hospital swimming pool.
Ralph suddenly jumped into the deep end.

He sank to the bottom of the pool and stayed there.

Edna promptly jumped in to save him. She swam to the bottom
and pulled him out. When the Head Nurse Director became aware of
Edna's heroic act she immediately ordered her to be discharged from
the hospital, as she now considered her to be mentally stable.

When she went to tell Edna the news she said, 'Edna, I have good news
and bad news. The good news is you're being discharged, since you were
able to rationally respond to a crisis by jumping in and saving the life of
the person you love. I have concluded that your act displays sound
mindedness.

The bad news is, Ralph hung himself in the bathroom with his bathrobe
belt right after you saved him. I am so sorry, but he's dead.'

Edna replied, 'He didn't hang himself, I put him there to dry.
How soon can I go home?'

Alterego, dude I hear you on the oil. Ultimately I made the decision to stay on the synthetic side of things. I chose Idemitsu, it's a synthetic blend specifically formulated for rotaries that also burns clean. I'm now also using Premix-1/2 oz per gallon of gas.

You can get both, premix and oil from Paul at Rotorsport in Santa Clara Rotorsport2.com

Next up is an upgraded ignition system-Coils, cables, spark plugs-to get an effective burn and keep the ports clean.
Hello,
What is the ultimate difference between the synthetic and non synthetic oil. Why does it say no synthetic oil and it will damage the seals???
I am lost with this issue.

They actually say that they haven't tested it. I'm sure its a lawyer that says don't use synthetic, not an engineer.

The great debate over conventional vs synthetic oil has be raging since day 1 on the rotary.

I've broken it down (for myself) into something like this

1. Use whichever oil you want as long as it's a quality oil
2. 5w30 is about as thin as you want to go
3. Change your oil more often then not
4. Change your oil more often then not
5. Change your oil more often then not
6. Keep records of your oil changes (receipts from the places changing the oil for you, or receipts from the shop where you bough the oil and filter). This will help you if you ever have a warranty issue and need to prove you've kept up with maintainance on the car.
7. Drive it like you stole it.

About $2-3 per bottle. I agree with Laythor, just change it often and it won't really matter what oil you use.

yeah. just change it every 3000 miles and you're good to go. frequent changes is far more important then if you use dino or synthetic.

Whats up guys.

I'm a new member on this forum and I do not currently own an RX-8. My good friend that does have an RX-8 does not have access to the internet, so I will be posting for him.

We are wondering if there are any weekly RX-8 meets in the South Bay that go on every weekend or if there are any meets you bay area guys meet up at. I'm a huge BMW enthusiast myself so he usually ends up coming to BMW meets with me and he feels out of place there. So if there are any it be nice to get some information about them so he can go check it out and get involved with the RX-8 scene.

Thanks!

I'll show up, but wont be staying for dinner. got my measurement microphone in yesterday. Now I have a whole new set of questions about properly calibrating the microphone to properly calibrate the stereo. So far the fiddling I've done is very promising.

Gas is getting too cheap again.

The shitboxes are starting to clog up the roads again, and now they're hyper-mileing too.

If I get stuck behind 1 more idiot merging onto the higway at 25 mph.....

I bought a 6 channel, 30 band graphic EQ, with 2 parametric EQ's per channel.

I need an RTA and a measurement microphone to set it up properly. I have some RTA software on my laptop, but i needed a mic and a pre-amp for it.
