not burning enough oil?

I have notice that I'm not burning as much oil as I use to. I don't even get the beautiful smell of burnt oil when I redline it . I noticed on another thread that suggested if your not adding a quart of oil every 1000, or about that, that your stock oil injection system (forgot the name of the actual component) might be bad. I have noticed that at 6000 rpm when the engine is warm and I floor it in second there is a loss of power and a rattle. It only happens when its warm though or has been driven for an hour or so. How would you be able to tell if the oil injection system is bad? Im going to start premising in the mean time to see if the issue improves. I drive a 06 with 31000 miles that I bought used with 17000 miles on it a year ago.

What are your driving condition? The system is based off load, in another words, granny it and you won't burn a lot of oil.

If it's a substantial change from what you are used to, without a corresponding change in driving conditions, I would be very concerned about clogged OMP lines. I believe there are a couple of DIY threads on cleaning them.

I drive it pretty hard. I usually granny it till it warms up but after that I'm pretty hard on it. I usually shift around 4500-5000 rpm and I drive it daily to work which is about 20-30 ,mostly highway, miles. I haven't changed the way I drive though. I try to stick to the redline a day phrase.

Is it pretty hard to clean the omp lines? I'm not a noob when it comes to working on cars but I'm not a pro either
