All up (including dongle) cost is around $1100US . Slave software all up should run around $450

Don't know if you read back far enough but i recently had the haltech installed on my car . Just wouldn't work if the factory ecu was in the car controlling anything. Is That the case with this unit ? Did it run on series 2 with factory ecu still controlling the dash or was the factory ecu completely removed ? That would be my question as that was our main issue. Completely removing the factory ecu would make you lose power steering as i understand it and I wouldn't want that.

Brettus isn't talking about an ECU. he's talking about a piece of software with an OBD2 dongle that can download your stock map, edit the various tables on that map such as MAF scaling, injector latency, ignition dwell, timing, and fuel maps and then upload that modified map back onto the OEM ECU... in much the same way the Cobb AccessPORT and Hymee Protuner work for S1s.

That's different to what I found out by actually asking the guy ......

I have enquired locally about trying the software out on a series 2 RX8 but none of the yards has one ATM.

I found a Microtech LT-10 that was used on a 2009 rx8 in fuji apparently.
I dont know if it will still run powersteering like someone was saying but it looks like the most promising thing i have seen for a series 2 FI rx8.

Here is the video of it.

I don't see any mention of the Adaptronic ECU from Turblown in this thread. Anyone tried that?

If you're referring to my post, and not some other that was deleted I apologize if it came across like that. I searched and did not see any mention of the adaptronics ecu in this thread so figured it was worth posting here in case anyone has tried it. I found a couple of posts related to using it on a Series I and it seemed like there were one or two things to be aware of but that it works.

EDIT: so I found this thread: https://www.rx8club.com/series-ii-fo...-225544/page2/ Looks like it is a possible option but no one has tried it and it is quite cost prohibitive.

I don't think there is much chance cobb will come out with a solution for s2 given that they decided to drop support for any NA vehicles, including the s1

There is actually no hope as far as COBB is concerned. Have talked with them about it in depth when they were doing my dyno. They don't believe there is enough of a market to justify the R&D. In fact their suggestion was to reach out to MazdaManiac.

I was referring to your post, but I thought you were a spam bot or something. For some reason when I clicked the link after you posted it, it took me to some ad page. The link seems to be ok now.

Hmm, looks like the forum is redirecting the link. If I edit my most, I see the original link "http://www.turblown.net/store/index.php?categoryID=48", but hover over it and you get a long click through tracking url starting with "http://apicdn.viglink.com/..."

Damn siri... sorry, was voice dictating my post and didn't catch the fact it left out the "no" as in "no hope" edited original to fix it.
