I miss my HKS It was a bit loud with the BHR pipe but I miss it now that I am turbo, because it quiets down my Turbo XS so I bet the HKS would be perfect with the turbo and BHR pipe.

Loud like WOT ear pearcing, or loud like daily driving drone and kill-myself type

It is too much for most to deal with. My GF hated it.

yea i figured as much, thats why i had to get rid of the TXS. Their "updated" exhaust drones so hard compared to their older "non-blue tipped" setup.

My doesn't drone due to the Turbo thankfully.

But, I have to say, I have been driving a stock RX-8 all week breaking in a new engine we put in it and it has cheap Ebay exhaust that sounds great. It's almost silent at cruise and idle but sounds great at WOT. The tips are pretty shot because it was sitting outside for a while but for the price you could buy two and have one as a spare,

I havent heard any bad things about the available ebay exhausts to be honest. And like you said, at the price you can even afford to replace the mufflers with moroso spiral mufflers should they blow out their packing

Yep, they won't work for turbo setups due to the piping diameter but for NA they work. This one also doe snot appear to be a replica, but the design is pretty similar to the Turbo XS in terms of routing and muffler placement. But there are only so many designs you can do for an exhaust so even authentic exhausts are similar in design. The good thing is that if you don't like the tips or mufflers, you can have them replaced cheap. Back in the day I had universal Magnaflow tips welded on my stock exhaust and it looked great.

I have a Agency Power midpipe and it is pretty loud. If you have ever heard that midpipe at 4k rpm it suddenly gets louder and raspier for about 1k rpm which is still present with this exhaust but toned down a bit somehow from the stock. I thought just my midpipe with my stock exhaust was loud but this thing is really really loud now. So far I have had the exhaust for a while now and never had any cop trouble, drove next to a few of them and while you can't stop all the noise you can make it tolerably loud.

From what I have read and heard it seems like the bhr midpipe would pair perfectly with the HKS exhaust. It should quiet it down a bit and give it a very nice tone. I'm sure it will still be quite loud though.

Can't say anything about how loud it is paired with the BHR MP, I'm using stock cat still and have no complaints. Idle is quiet, normal driving is fine, cabin noise is tolerable you can still hear your music. WOT is quite loud and will attract a lot of attention. If I'm being followed by a LEO I just shift under 3k and have never been stopped. Overall tone is quite low, have never had anything but compliments on how it sounds.
