The stretch actually wasn't too bad at all! The front didnt stretch much and the back was a medium stretch.

If you look in the pics you will see the stance I am going for. It's not a crazy poke either.

My car is going to be pretty low too.. The pic here is the rear tire stretch btw

Disagree. No functional reason for stretch.

Yeah that much stretch is not necessary at all. You have more than I do and I'm running much more aggressive wheels. Also, you could have went with the 9.75 all around. Had those wheels in 9.75 all around on 245s and had zero issues.

I am going to stance the car, hence why I went with that fitment. Also, I just didn't want to go with 9.75 all around because I did not want my turn radius to be any lower then it has to be.

The rear tire stretch is definitely there.

To each is own though.

Turn radius? Do you drive a lawnmower?

I'm not going for complete function either, mixed between function and form as previously stated. Well, I believe I stated that before..

and then there is this guy with the sarcastic comments. ... every car does have a turn radius wider front tires would mean on a tight turn it would be a little harder to take it... I think even a middle school child would know that.

Are you worried about the scrub the tires go through under tight turning, or are you worried about rubbing on chassis components durning full lock turning?

To each is own dude so you can do with your own style and I will go with mine. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but it comes to the owner and what they like.

I hope you apply more thought to other decisions in your life. That's all I'm gonna say.

I was worried about both honestly, that's why I went with the staggered fitment. Its good to know now for next time I get wheels that I can go with the 9.75 without problems. What offset did you have with the 9.75?

Front tire scrub on a RWD layout isn't as big of a deal as it would be on a AWD or FWD layout. There is no front differential, and your steering is designed with ackermann steering geometry. The change in offset from stock will have a larger impact on front tire scrub than the wheels/tires width will have.

And if you rub with those wheels/tires at full lock, it doesn't fit.

Damn I wish someone had said to not get a staggered setup. That would have been helpful.

You had multiple people tell you wider tires and run the rear size wheel all around. Was your entire purpose just to ignore all advice? Wtf

Hello, so I have been reading and searching in about 50 pages of this thread but cannot find the exact answer I am looking for. This is my first RX-8 and I just found some potential wheels I really like for the price I can afford at the moment. I know people don't like staggered but it is only on tires and that's the way the wheels are being sold, I will make them all the same size once I need new tires.

I am on a stock 8 everything and was wondering if these tires will fit:

XXR 522 18x9.5 with 38mm offset all around
F: 235/40/18
R: 255/40/18

Again, I don't like the fact that they tires are staggered but its the way it is. Once I get new wheels I would like to go 245/40/18 all around. Will this set fit my stock Rx-8, I will be dropping ~1" before summer.

Thanks! I know it's not a great setup right now, but will it be better once I get the 245/40/18 wheels all around and drop it 1"?

That is the first thread I started on. Like I said, I tried to do my research but kept finding similar stuff. Just wanted to be sure before purchasing them, I like the all black fine look on my Teresa

Will it fit

Will 18x9.5 5-114.3 with 35mm offset fit? Everything is stock btw.

You also didn't say what tires you are using.
