Well, I think I am gonna buy Tenzo dc 5 R wheels 19x8.5. Again I am lowered on tein flex with the 1.4" and .7" drop front and rear respectively. The only issue I am having is I am clueless on tire sizes. So give me some options that will work on this setup.
19x8.5 all the way round.

I have heard 235/35/19 will work but wanted to check it by the people who own them first. Thanks for the help.

Forgot the offset its +45 all the way round.

With those offsets, I'd do 245 or even 255, but the latter may rub your inside front fenders when turning hard on those 19". IMO, 235s are a bit anemic on the 8 on all 4s.

I'm running 19x8.5 +40 with 255/35 front and back and dropped with Tein Flex. I am lowered more than the standard drop out of the box as well. I have very minor rub in the front wheel wells that I believe is due to the KDW2 tires being wider than other 255/35 tires. I have never confirmed if this is actually true though.

I'm looking into getting some new rims/tires, but I'm not an expert on wheel sizes and certainly not fitting them on the 8. Can anybody help me out and tell me how well this setup would fit/look:

18x9 +40 255/40/18 on all 4 corners
~20mm drop

Might go with a 245/40/18 tire as well. Sorry if a similar setup was already posted and I missed it. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Press Ctrl F and type "18x9" on all the 20+ pages in this thread. That's how I found 90% of my answers for tire sizes and fitment.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the reply... I wasn't sure if the wheels would stick outside of the wheel wells with that size/offset, and possibly rub at full suspension travel. Now the long tedious search to find the lowest price begins

How about these: Falken FK452 245/40/19 or in 245/35/19 on all 4? I know the 35 profile will fit, but not sure about a 40 series. I don't want to roll fenders or camber. Also, which do you think would look better on a set of 19x8.5 Gunmetal Volk GTS wheels?

If your offset is +35 or greater it may work with 245/35s. Higher offsets with the use of 255s could cause inner fender rub due to the 19". Close call

I'm going 255/35/18s up front and I'll be fine on 18x8.5 +35...but those are 18s. Tein S-Tech 1" drop too.

Does anyone go with a 255/40/18? The speedometer is more on with this size but i don't see anyone using it. Will it fit? I have 18X8.5 +44

Should be fine. Your wheels are about 9mm tucked in further than mine, so clearing the fenders are no problem.

Thanks. Now I need to decide if it's worth the higher price over the 245's

An RX-8 baseline:

- 8.5" wheels with +35 offsets are almost flush with inner fender up front.
- 9.5" wheels with +35 offsets are flush with outer fender on the rear.

Offsets higher than +35 will move the wheel that many more millimeters inward.
Higher wheels eg: 19" and 20" will make it more prone to inner fender rubbing up front depending on wheel width and rear fender rubbing depending on tire size.

You can buy spacers of different dimensions to "push" the wheel out further towards the fender if that is the look you are going for and you're dead set on those (7.5", +55 offset wheels).

I am looking at a set of 18x8.5 with 52mm offset..no tires in mind yet
will these fit? stock height, 10 mm wider front fender.
planning on lowering maybe .5~1 inch..maybe

also I read somewhere that spacer is pretty dangerous..is that true?

Thanks in advance

Just bought an '07 Grand Touring, have a couple of q's.
1>I had a set of Speedstar D5R's on my other car 18x9 38mm offset w/ 5-114 bolt pattern.Tires are 245/40-18 all around.Will these fit?
2>If they will,I've never had a car w/ TPMS before. What do I need to do,or can I just deal w/ the warning light?
3>If they won't fit,is there anything I can do to get them to fit?Or should I just try and sell them?
Thanx!!

18x9s +38 are pushing it up front, as they would probably sit flush with the outside fender. The rears would be a bit further in.

If the wheels cannot accept TPMS, then you'll have to deal with the wrath of it's cel. The hack imo, isn't worth it.

Ok.

Will 18X8.5 (+40 offset) with 235/40/18 tires and Tein S-Tech Springs work?

I didn't buy the tires yet.

TIA

I am looking at getiing some 5zigen ZR+ 18 x 8.5 + 47 to run with my 245 /45 18" Dunlops that came with the vehicle. I have been swithing between winter and summer tires on factory wheels now for three years so have some miles left on them only 2100 on vehicle. I am looking to get sumer wheels with new summer tires when these wear out. Any tire size suggetions to fit this wheel and will my currnt tires fit this 1/2 in larger rim width well enough?
