Good choice Poison. I'm noticing a lot of people are rushing into buying wheels and they end up going with something generic that they'll some what regret later. I always say to hold off until you have some money to burn on something nice that or if you stumble on a deal like i did. heh

I was going to buy the Tenzo Dc-5 version2 or the Dc-6 version2 but I started thinking about it I just dropped the car an got new tires so why rush it an spend money I can save an throw down on a set of volks. I looked around I found the ichiban v2 spacers for 216 full set so I'll go with that

FYI: You don't have to wait for a reply to tiltmode's post about wheel fitment. He knows his stuff lol.

PS: You only need an alignment when changing suspension stuff up or if you mess it up some other way, not putting new tires on. Tires don't affect the alignment. Also, don't worry about putting taller tires on the rear. It isn't that big a deal, would look funny, and the car safety systems don't like different height tires front to rear. Not sure on how much difference in height is needed for it to be a problem though.
Yep, I picked them up this morning. They look far better than I expected. I think the lowering due to the 17" rim and the 40 tires really help out. I expected the gap to look pretty bad, but it didn't bother me in the least bit - really pleased. It doesn't look cheap or too bling, it has what I'd call a "classy sports look". I haven't pushed it too hard yet, but I sped through a couple of corners while driving around to bed in my Axxis ULTs and Centric blanks. On the OEMs with Nitto NT555s, the car when whipping through turns felt less stable due to the added height from the ground, and with DSC on, it was super annoying as sometimes it would pull through really well, and the other half it would activate the DSC really aggressively causing loud crunching sound and loss of acceleration. Now, it pulls through with full grip like a go kart on rubberized asphalt. The tire is much quieter too, at first I thought the shop had done something to the engine. The very slight turbo-like sound from before is now very prominent. It wasn't until I noticed that the whistling at the window was much louder too, that I realized that it was due to barely being able to hear the tires now. I'll test harder w/o DSC after 200 miles. If it weren't for the 3.6% odometer bump, I'd stick with these from here on out. I've read some reports that the sidewalls on the Evos are soft, especially for track. I'll see when I push these harder, but I think the low profile helps.

I got laid off today after almost 5 years on the job, so I'm glad that I have these and an AFE short shifter and a shift stop to install this weekend to offset the pain. Of course, I'm choosing to live in denial of the $ pain that I'll be feeling soon.

I am new to buying rims and tires so please help a brother out. Im planning on getting size 18x8.5 (front and rear) with 5/114.3 +45mm offset. 1-will these rims fit my rx8 without any modifications? 2-what are the specs for tires?

Yes they will fit, and a 245/40/18 would be the best choice for tire size.

With that side you can throw a 275 on there and it wont rub...

245/40 is the same height as 225/45...You don't need a higherside wall...Your driving a sports car, do you want to have worse performance?

Apparently.

Thanks

Yea with 245/40/18 in front and 275/35/18 in the rear. May need a fender roll depending on camber and ride height. Make sure it is the 5x4.5 bolt pattern

ughh I dislike those kinds of wheels ("one size fits all"). What are you going to do with the other 5 holes?

It's the rotational mass that's the issue. 10:1

Hey guys buying some new wheels and I need to know if this combo will fit

Front - 18 x 8.5 +35 offset on stock potenzas (225/45/18)

Rear - 18 x 9.5 +35 offset on stock potenzas

Not sure which offset is best, I like the flushed look but I can choose either 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 or 50 offset and Im not sure which one. any suggestions are welcomed.

Also, which one would u guys get
