Spring Swap Out
What is the potential damage or better yet how much stress am i putting the Bilstein Shock if i were to change out the spring with an Eibach or a H&R? This is for a 2009 R3?(Lowering Purpose)

Nonetheless, any time you take a stock setup and change the springs while retaining the original shock assembly, you do put some more stress on the shock. Naturally this causes the shock to do a bit more work before the spring takes over. Will this damage the shock? Maybe, maybe not, it really depends on the quality of the shock and its compression limits. Is it better to swap both? yes.

You'll certainly stress them if u use them with Eibachs or H&Rs---youll blow them out! They are too soft, esp. for the lowering. Get some ST springs. part # is 65859. .8" drop F and R.
