Good Tires for 2010 RX8
I live in miami, so snow isnt an issue. I read other threads, and it seems the consensus is that Tirerack is the way to go. Any certain models of tires for everyday driving someone can recommend?

I HATE SPEEDBUMPS!
I have the discontinued Yokohama ES-100 right now. I am planning to get the Yokohama S-Drive next time. Yokohama's have good grip and handling capabilities. You should try it, you won't regret it.

Thanks
Thanks guys. I am checking out some michelins that look good. Also, thats the second time ive heard about the Yokohama S-Drive. It rains alot in miami and heard those handle great in the rain. open to anymore suggestions but appreciate it. First time RX8 owner and absolutely love the car. Im blown away by the performance. Now i just have to not get speeding tickets, which is gonna be tough.

I've looked into some new tires myself and am leaning towards Continental ExtremeContact DWs (see my thread a few spots down). Trouble is, Tire Rack is backordered on them and I'm not sure my current worn-down G-Force Sports are going to hold out much longer.
I looked into the S-Drives and think they're pretty good, but the Contis seem to do everything they do as well as have the best wet performance. You could also try Hankook Ventus V12 Evos - those are super cheap for what you get, which is an amazing tire. Lots of people here use them.
If my pockets were deep enough, though, I'd go with Michelin PS2s.

The best way to search this forum:
RX-8 Club has tons of information on hand. And I mean tons. Literally. Add up the weight of everyone's brain, and it will be several tons. Sorry, I know that was bad.
Collectively, we know more than any one dealership, tech, repair shop, or spec manual. However, as usual, the information doesn't all sit in one place, it doesn't sit in one head, and we have our idiots, our morons, our ********, our kids, our jerks, and our literary incompetents. Just like any forum. Fortunately, we have relatively fewer of those than most other car communities out there. But they still exist.
We also have a Search button, and a Search function for the board, but it isn't very good. It removes words that it sees as common or two short, but are a critical part of the search. It doesn't allow for search by relevancy, as in real relevancy. You mostly have to do alot of hunting and pecking in the search results to come up with what you might be looking for.
Add the two above issues together, and you can easily take all day to find only bad information.
But I have good news! You can improve your results and search speed by up to 15% by switching to Google!
As in Google.com.
Go to Google.com, and in the search box, type: site:rx8club.com
Then a space.
Then start typing what you are looking for.
Like this:
RX8Club.com search via Google
Your Google search results will be ONLY from this forum, and it will use all the power and intelligence of the best search engine in the world.
I still use that function nearly every day between RX8Club.com, Miata.net, and Mazdas247.com. So if you have a question that you think is common, give that search method a try, sit back with your beverage of choice and start reading
Additional Google Search tip:
If you are trying to search within a specific thread for information threads that turn out to be very long, add the name of the thread to your search in quotes. This will not restrict the search to just that thread, however the results from that thread will be bias'ed towards the top of the Google search results, and usually be the first results.

Great. Theres a big difference though in research online and actual testimonials. For instance, i have the potenzas now, and a friend recommended the new s-drives. Most of the other threads included discontinued tires no longer available. Fuz, that google site search works great. Have used it already to answer many ?s. Just no replacement for updated, fresh input from actual RX8 drivers. Going to pick up a set of wheels with the S-Drives today. Will let you know how they work out. The potenzas are really good tires too, i noticed. 9k, i understand that it really depends, but i just dont know what is a good tire for me. Just because there are reviews that mark a tire as good, i would prefer to hear first hand from RX8 owners that have experience with some tires that worked well for them.

Yeah well, asking here will get you now where because most people are fan boi's of certain brands and will recommend them despite anything else.
The factory Bridgstones are crap according to some here and yest others swear by them. Same goes for the Dunlops. If you don't track chances are any street tire will be just fine.
Not to mention the subject of tires has been discussed here abagillion times so why start another thread about it when all the answers, reviews, opinions you seek are in those threads? Seems to me you just like to start threads asking questions that have already been answered many, many, many times. I suggest you use the place as a resource and start reading stuff that is already here.

OP, I'm not trying to offend you, but I'm saying this as a recommendation- Why don't you delete this thread, and the others that you have made. They are just another piece of clutter that will stem the flow of "easy" searching. I wish every thread that just said "search noob" would get deleted. You will actually contribute by deleting it!
Unless there is useful info in this thread (which there isn't), just delete it and make the do your part in making this forum a more efficient one.
Again, not trying to be a dick! Just trying to clean up the place
I've done my part. Have you done yours?? :P

At least there is now a european cheap(er) alternative to the korean tires---the Conti DW. If the soft rear suspension of the 8 doesnt bother u, then a soft-ish (for a hi-po anyway) tire like this certainly won't.
