noise from aftermarket suspension
i recently traded in my 02 rsx type s for an 05 mt rx8 gt. i'm looking to upgrade my suspension and lower the ride height but was wondering if i'll experience future problems like i did with my acura. to those who lowered their 8s, did you guys hear squeaking and popping of springs/shocks or any kind of noise from the suspension? also, the ride comfort in my rsx was awful (very bumpy) even though it had fully adjustable koni yellows and ground controls. this is very common with hondas and was wondering if it would be same for the 8. let us know what you guys think the best suspension set up/brand is the best for the 8. thanks.

The only issue that I have had, is a squeaky front Mazdaspeed sway bar bushing. I recently upgraded those to a geaseable bushings from Energy Suspension. Only squeaks if it is 35 degrees or lower in outside temps. Other than that no probs at all.

I got the full MS suspension and it does pop in the rear. This is normal as just about everyone that has them have complained about it. There are many threads on this. Other than that the suspension is great.

Go Texas Longhorns!
the lower you drop, they more noise people seem to have if they don't go with true coilovers.
The back suspension IMO with lowering springs is kinda "lose" and can make some noises. You can remedy this to a degree with some spring caps mazda sells for the Mazda6 that wrap around the top and bottom of the springs.

thanks for the input. im leaning towards the ms setup since its the most practical one. my rsx was slammed and caused way too many problems so i'm staying away from a set up that lowers the car dramatically. i used to get 28 mpg on the s, now im getting 18 on the 8. still, the 8 is 10x better than my old car. i used to take my lowered s 50 mph on my freeway offramp with tires squealing. just did it in the 8 at 65 mph with ease tonight. plus, theres 10x less rx8's on the road.
